Your reply to assflug has to be one of the best replies I've ever read!

Thanks!

Interesting, you did own him something good for a first post. Don't suppose you still post there now?

Yeah, I read it too. Great response - you tore him up! I just got done reading that thread in another tab on my browser, and then got here...

There's a lot of that stuff on ADVrider, but I think most of it is not taken personally. There are plenty of asshats there, but nobody takes them seriously. There's still a lot of good information on that site, and with the introduction of the Uly, there has been a lot of Buell bashing and praising.

funny thing is the guy who posted the picks and made the original remarks is a local. i ended up working on his house a few weeks later and noticed his bike in the garage.
he told me the story not realizing i was one of them " foolish bueller people". the look on his face was priceless when i explained who i was and that the owner of the bike he ridiculed was a retired special forces guy and current police swat team member. i assured him that they would surely see each other again, he was all over himself apologizing. (why to me!)
amazing how different people are in person. the simple act of being required to back up your mouth tends to temper it a bit. actually seemed a decent guy "in person" but what a tool behind the keyboard!

I rarely post there, but it's an OK site. I was just pissed that he was getting a little personal on mine and Hammer's bikes and making assumptions about us as people. I'm sure he's an Ok guy, but needs to realize there are people behind the screen names.

True but the guy had just met me about 2 hrs. before his post and subsequent rambling about me and the ride. Notice that he had good things to say about Jay once he realized who some of friends were. Still going to throw him and his ride off the mountain when I see him.

Hammer - I didn't know he had met you earlier that day. That makes him twice the a$$hole I thought he was.

Yeah, had very long chat with him and Jay. He was, or appeared to be very impressed with Jay's ride and the 250 thousand miles on it. He then commented on my ride and how no other compay namesake would be readily available to sign someones bike. The meeting was pretty cool and guy seemed to be genuine until I saw his post. All the guy had to do was state his dislike for my choice in ride and that would have been that. no big deal. Now he has to ride around with his ass cheeks puckered wondering if every yellow bike in New York is going to run him off the road.

i'm sure he's not worried. after all buells are much too slow and unreliable to ever catch up to him on his uber machine.

even if you never meet up with him again it won't really matter. he's spent far more time wondering about you than you have thinking about him. he was very uncomfortable that day(understandably so, if your gonna pi_s somebody off why not make it ex special forces!). chat room tough guys don't like when the keyboard suddenly connects to real life.
strange, guy really did seem decent in person, maybe anonymity is like alcohol, it brings out your true personality.

Johnnylunchbox,
Had a chance to read your response to the misfortunate individual who would slag yours or anyones ride.Though many stereo types prevail in all groups I must say like personalities do usually attract in hordes.
That said,it is one of the main reasons Im proud to belong to the fraternity of Buelligans!
Here's to a great ride, good friends and a truly unique group of people.
