Do not post graphic stuff like this on Badweb without specific clearance from a Custodian. This link provides no warning as to what will transpire. It blindsides the casual observer and provides no benefit at all.

Thanks for catching that Jerry.

From what I remember of that (video is a few years old), no one died. There were some serious injuries; but everyone made it through OK.

Could be faulty memory on my part. It is an older video.

Seems like they should have had some out there before the turn slowing the traffic and waving a red flag.

i did state in the thread topic that it was a crash. and in the text i also stated that it looks pretty bad. i don't think i blindsided anyone, but if i post anything like this again i will be sure to be more specific about what you'll see.

sorry if i caused anyone any undue counseling. if this increases your therepy just send me the bill

Taxman, the verbiage "looks pretty bad" doesn't prepare one for what appears to be a brutal fatality. thank you for your assurance that any future posts along these lines will be more specific as to the content.

Some people are just too sensitive!!!!

define "too sensitive."

i don't like seeing people die. when i played the video i was not prepared for what i saw. i made the decision to edit a warning into Taxman's post. the warning did not pass any judgement on Taxman, nor did i choose to delete his post. i simply added a warning for anyone who, like me, doesn't like watching people die.

if you consider that "too sensitive," so be it.

I also dislike watching people die. I have been first responder on way to many fatalities over the years ins several different sports. It is never pretty. I don't lose sleep over it anymore but I think that is just a coping mechanism.

I strongly feel it is not fair to the family of a deceased loved one to have to suffer through it being broadcast to the world if not nessecary . I find it loathsome and despicable that some TV shows use fatality video to entertain people.

Kind of reminds me of the old Roman gladiator days only high tech. Perhaps we are not as evolved as we think..............

Those track workers were poorly trained. It looks like they were actually the cause of the second accident. Instead of trying to pick up a bike laying in the track, they should have put their efforts in slowing the riders down before the corner.

Poor training and planning. Who ever was in charge should have been sacked.

I don't enjoy watching sh*t like that either and it can be disrespectful to the family. The warning is definitely appropriate.

We went through this a year or two ago -- Ferris stepped in that case too. Thank you Mr. Haughton!

Please save the "I just deal with things and then move on" bag of dog poop response too -- heard that one last time.

Watching people die kills part of your humanity; it drills holes in your soul; it has long term effects on how you relate to life/family/friends/loved ones. Intentionally placing such images on your internal hard drive (your brain) is negligence.

Many years, many bad things, many bad images, left some great friends behind. Go fine someone you love, maybe just lust, and give them a hug.

Don't ask, been there, done that, retired.

Nobody died in this crash thank God. Don't listen to the guy shooting the video. This is pretty old footage too. From July of 2001 to be exact. Everybody is OK now:

i'm obviously pleased to learn that no one died in this accident. watching (and listening to) the video it's easy to assume the corner worker was killed.

thanks for the support, folks, it's appreciated.

Not to start any crap here but, why is it some people seem facinated with crashes and such? These are the same type of people that slow down when the see an ambulance on the side of the road and can't help but look. That all said if one could discuss the error a rider made on a crash and used it as a learning tool than it would be valuable. I have seen some deer crash footage where we would discuss the error the rider made and it has actually helped me become a bit more knowledgeable in these types of situations.

Regards

Mike

I'll bite, I am one of those people that look at Goregallery.com or rotten.com, rent Faces of Death, etc.. For me its curiosity that gets the best of me. I know I am not the only one out there interested because major networks would not waste air time on something no one would watch. I think its human nature to take a look at things that peak emotion. I dont enjoy the idea of someone coming to their end, but it is something that upon hearing of, I feel the need to investigate. Culture, our culture, our religious beliefs have deemed what is practical and widely accepted. Otherwise, how is it that cannibalism is found completly barbaric and unhuman when a whole region of the world finds it acceptable, for instance. Please excuse my spelling and maybe this isn't the place to show those kinds of things, but I appreciated the link. We as bikers flirt with death everyday and sometimes it bites, its just dumb to accept this and act like it doesn't happen by turning a shoulder and not having the courage to face it. I'm ready, let me have it.

...its just dumb to accept this and act like it doesn't happen by turning a shoulder and not having the courage to face it.

i'm not acting like death doesn't happen. nor am i afraid of dying.

but i am totally repulsed by the idea that watching someone's death is entertaining.

i agree that there must be many others like you who derive some sort of pleasure by witnessing the pain and suffering of others, but for the life of me i can't understand what would make a person be that way.

no disrespect meant. thanks for providing a well-spoken, albeit distasteful, counterpoint.

This is/has been a good discussion. I don't think any horse corpses are being desecrated here.

We're all adults here.. Well some more than others.

The title to this thread was "Motorcycle race crash" it could have had the word "fatal" or "Warning death in crash" but these things happen. I really don't care for it. I've seen a lot of wrecks in the mountains, city streets and on the track. Seen people get hurt some even have died. I get no pleasure in watching someone die on video.

I'm a big boy and not going to cry about it either if I decide to look at a thread or to watch a video. Some need to do the same.

On TV they have shows, you know like "Worst police chase videos" and "Crashes" etc.,etc.,etc.

It attracts people to watch. Some do and some don't. Make your choice.

As an adult if you see a thread with something you 'truely don't want to see' don't look at it and move on.

Its that simple....

Enough said, life is precious and sometimes to short.

Good points. I think our fascination with the morbid and death (birth of CSI type shows) is degrading and is hardening people to death and dying.
