I recently sold my track project bike because the aftermarket parts were too hard to find for a 1995 bike. Now I have $2500 burning a hole in my pocket.

My initial thought was to get a more track ready bike. There are plenty available between $2500-$3000.

But the enduro/motard bikes have peaked my interest. There are a handful of 400cc-500cc bikes availabe in the same price range.

And I don't need another Buell, so lets not go there: D

If it was your money, what would you do?

"If it was your money, what would you do?"

I'd pay down some debt, buy a fishing license and some fresh flyline, maybe a small canoe or kayak, and go fishing.

I'd go for whatever type competition is most predominant in my area.

With Super Moto being so popular at Road America, I think I would go in that direction. Plus, it compliments your regular track day skills.

NO Wait!
I have a better Idea. If your money was mine I'd spend $5000 of my (your) Money and buy my (my) Sprint ST so that I could get my SMR sooner.

One really neat thing about a Super Moto is you can set up your own BattleTrax Facsimile and practice between track sessions.

You already know the routine. Just add a stop watch and a few friends and you have a full day of low cost excitement. Not to mention it is a lot easier on your back than an enduro or most other dirt sports.

Brent...have you seen my bike: D

After some serious concideration, I've decided to buy some track bodywork (after I already sold what I had). The rest of the money will go towards a trailer, gas & track time.

If I still have the itch next year, then I'll probably look for a use DR-Z with motard tires. A set of dirt rims should be cheap enough for the occasional travels into the northwoods of Wisconsin.

why did I start riding in the dirt?

I am thinking about getting a dualsport, myself. That type of riding is way too much fun. Maybe I should try to buy that cool supermoto from Roadthing? I would like to have a bike like the one in the picture. I don't guess Buell will ever build something like that.
