OCD=Obsessive Compulsive Disorder The guy was polishing the bike in his kitchen! He's got fantastic skills and it would be nice to see him stick around the Badweb. (Message edited by dbird29 on March 16, 2006) |

I was bored and read the thread. I also am a practicing 'gringo' criminal defense atty and married to a wonderful wife from Mexico and have just as wonderful Mexican 'in-laws' family there. I have a few opinions and some experience on the contents of those previous postings. None are hostile and you can take the advice and comments or leave them as you will. Sorry for the trouble for you and yours. Private Message me if you want another take on things. |

I spent a week in Cancun, used the card all the time. No problems, however sometimes I fear the 'ones' here rather then the locals. |

the whole town can burn in hell. I feel the same way. Don't let it eat you up though. Keep busy doing something you like. Go bowling, riding, listen to music. Having something to look forward to has kept me going through tough times. I only read the first page of the CF forum and that "speed_addict" guy is a complete toolshed. On the whole, the people in this little electronic village are top notch. Keep us posted! |

Misato, I also read this thread a while back and it made me very angry. I am so sorry this has happened to the two of you. I would like to make a suggestion. Do not wake her up!!!! People only remember dreams that they wake immediatly after or during. Her brain is trying to purge a horrific experience and it is best to let it do it's job. It is part of the healing process and more than likely harder on you than on her if she sleeps through it. The dreams will fade with time but her memories will stay very fresh if awoken in the middle of a nightmare. You do not have to take my word for this but it is easy to do some research on the net. I urge you to do check into it. Good luck I wish you both the best. |

I am sure it is painful to see her having a nightmare. I had to research this subject a long time ago. Be there for her when she wakes up. I have to say I don't know you but I think you must be a very good person. Stay strong. |

UH...You need a town in Mexico burned? I just heard a story on one of the PBS radio stations on Tuesday about a wave of sexual assults happening in a town down there I think it was Cabo San Lucas? Anyways it is a town filling up with affluent single women artist types, and there has been a rash of IT going on. The Mayor has his sights set on running for EL Presidente, and having his city seem out of his control would look "Bad" The PBS radio report said exactly what you post on CF and earlier on here said. Sorry it happened. (Message edited by swampy on March 16, 2006) |

Misato - we're all pulling for you here. This place is like a family, and if something like this happened in any of our real families, we'd be behind them 100%. I understand that you want to punish the man responsible, and the legal path, of course, is the righteous path. If it ends up being a dead end, there are other paths, not as well-traveled, which will eventually lead to your destination of justice. However, travel them slowly and carefully, so as not to fall off and be lost. And understand that no matter what happens from this point forward, nothing can possibly undo what has already happened. So weigh that fact against any action you decide to take. |

I still think a good/positive thing might be to get your situation publicized, like on O'Reilly and such. Nothing helps the cause of justice than moral outrage against a purely tourism sustained city. Say the word and we'll start emailing. |

I'm all for it.. I'm going to make a web site aboout the whole thing I took some pics of the marina and the spot it happened and then email everyone and there sister.. yes, it was cabo. I think the only thing I can do is spread the word and hope people dont go there and that will take away $$. I've been draging my feet on the website. I keep putting it off, not sure why. I guess I dont want to go through the whole thing again. I'm going the legal way.. it would have been much cheaper to go other ways- and quicker. the lawyers want another $2500 to continue with the trial, I've been sending them $500 at a time but cash is tight. we are getting married in oct. and her mom gave us some cash for that but I've used most of it for this crap. With the second trip I'm at $10k+. I dont think there is any way of getting around having to sell the buell. maybe with some news coverage I can put a paypal link on that page when I do it. he is supposed to still be in la paz-state prison, but who knows for sure. I wanted to hand out flyers down there at the marina but I figured I wouldn't last long.. I want to thank everyone for the support I've got through BWB. |

Stay factual, avoid personally derogatory comments, spread the word in the interest of general public safety and awareness as to what happened and what hassles you had to go to for justice. Stay safe. |

i propose to BOYCOTT MEXICO. the seething cesspool of poverty stricken decay and debauchery will do without my hard-earned gringo-dollars. i hereby pledge not to spend a single cent south of the border for the balance 0f 2006. there. the buck just stopped HERE. |

"i propose to BOYCOTT MEXICO" So, I gather that includes a BOYCOTT of fruits, vegetables, manufactured goods, and a BOYCOTT of good and legitimate Mexican citizens who cross the borders legally every day to spend money in our shopping centers, cities, tourist parks and malls before returning home. I believe rapes, child sex abuse, child abuse happen every day in this country at a higher per capita rate than any other country in the world, who are we supposed to boycott to punish those offenders? One woman and family had a horrible time of this thing, crime is everywhere. Mexico can be dangerous, always has been probably. So tell me how this BOYCOTT thing works for you, OK? |

it happens everywhere, every country. it just happened in mexico in this case. we dont have to go there and spend tourists dollars. mainly I want people to know and be aware. I'm not talking some back road town either.. right in the middle of a busy marina with dozens and dozens of people 20ft away... so I guess I should just let it go and do nothing because I cant stop it and I cant help everybody. here, there or anywhere. I'll just sit back drink my beer and watch tv. |

My in-laws have been doing it that way for 40 years. Mother-in-law has a permanent visa issued in 1967 and has been shopping with her and her other relatives here for decades. Every airline flight in and out of Mexico to the USA every day contains legitimate travelers with proper documents. Sure there is a illegal immigration problem, but you know what I learned in graduate business school. Latin America is our ONLY significant reliable trading partner in the world. No one else will buy USA goods the way they have and do. Find an American product anywhere in France. $ and goods, it is two way street, our GOVT just isn't letting you in on that little fact. Better to keep everyone hating each other. We need Latin America as much as they need and want us. Not mentioning the historical fact that somehow France in the Louisiana Purchase sold their CA, Texas property to the USA in an illegal land grab... (Message edited by CurtyD on March 18, 2006) |
