Well I am bummed. I ordered a set of Contisport attacks ten days ago and was not told the tires were on backorder. The internet order page said they would ship in three to ten days. Well today I called into see if they shipped yet and was told probally not going to get them in until the 31st.

I asked them if they could sub either Pilot Powers or Bt14's fo rthe same price and they would not. The reason they gave was that they only make four or five dollars a tire. Could this possibly be true?

I am not real happy with the level of customer service but I caved and ordered the Pilot Powers for fifteen dollars a set more than the Contis. I guess 230.00 deliverd is not bad but I am still bummed with the overall experience.

So here is my big question. Do I really need tires of this level?

I do ride very hard and fast in the canyons and run right off the edges of my rear tires. I try to save a 1/4 inch or so on the front just to be "safe". It sure would be nice not spending $100.00 a month on tires. They had the conti road attack and I was tempted but kinda scared at the same time. Any advice? I really need to hear from the canyon guys on this one as I dont do any commuting.

Thanks

I am so freaking fickle! I just canceled the Pilots and went with the Conti road attacks. It is early in the season and I am kinda poor so they should get me into late June.

Conti claims they will work well on GSXR 1000's and such so I am throwing caution to the wind and am gonna see how they do.

I would sure like to hear back from anyone that uses the edges of their tires though.

thanks

Just got an email back from Patrick at Continental. I am impressed as I only emailed them yesterday! Anyway below is a copy of the email I got from them. I think the Conti's may be not only a good deal at $214.00 including shipping but I think they are going to outlast my usual flavors. I will update you folks on what I think of the Contis soon.

The ContiRoad Attack web page has impartial reviews from "Two" and MCSPL
magazines which give pretty fair reviews of the tyres performance. I use the
ContiRoad Attacks on my VFR and regard them as an excellent "real world"
tyre over very varied road conditions (we are based in very twisty
mountainous area in west Wales) Our Irish distributor tells me the lads over
there are using them for track days!!

Let me know how you get on with them

Good choice with the conti road attacks. I have over 4,300 miles on mine and they still have a lot of miles to go. they stick very well in the corners too. A lot of users of the tires on the site, love them. Where did you purchase them from? Here is a road report link on them. http://www.canyonchasers.net/reviews/

Yeah, where'd ya get them from? I'm good for a while yet with my Diablos, but I was considering the Contis for my next set (along with a few other brands, including getting Pirellis again...).

JCBikes, Nice to hear from someone that rides them! I have always run "premium" rubber but it gets damm expensive. I think last years tire bill was $2,000...........

Kootenay,
I got them from tireexpress.com great price but make darn sure when they are going to ship. Make sure to ask if they are in stock as I found their website to be a bit less than accurate...............

Ciao
