Opening minutes of Daytona 200 talking about Buell and the fact that AMA President stepped down and Honda pulled out over Buell being approved to race.

They also stated that any Buell placing at any position will be contested by all.

What the CRAP are the afraid of.

I guess they're scared of being humiliated by an engine designed in 1957. Ha!

AMA has a history of class rules that lets older, less state of the art, motorcycles compete more evenly with newer designs that were lighter and produced more HP per cc.

Many thought that was about giving H-D an edge, I always thought it was more about giving them a fair chance so fans would come out and watch the races. And I never had any problem with that. I was not pro or anti Harley, I was pro motorcycle and simply enjoyed the racing.

When I could, I have attended all kinds of AMA sponsored races for nearly 50 years. And don't ever recall going to any kind of a race where I thought that a guy had a big edge by being on a H-D product.

The British bikes were there when I came in, and the Japanese bikes just coming along. I think the AMA has done a good job of keeping the racing interesting and attractive to most of the major makes and to motorcyclists across the board. They were not catering just to the H-D brand and riders.

The AMA rule changes make the racing more fun to more people, gets the fans in the stands, and makes money for the promoters. And that is the most important part of it, racing has to make money to survive.

Last year I bought my first H-D product and, as it turns out, I love it. I'd enjoy seeing it compete with and do well with the I-4 rice rockets. I'll still be a fan and occasional spectator if it does not.

I'm happy with the rule changes and feel that HoKaSuYa, especially Honda, are way out of line in their complaints. They have alienated me and I think a lot less of them for it. I have two Honda 90's and I'm thinking about getting rid of them. :>;)

Let them go away and start their own racing structure if they want. I won't be at many or maybe even any of their events if they do simply because of their narrow perspective on what it important about racing in America and to racing fans in America.

jt,
nice shop, throw some chairs out on that porch and we got a new destination to ride to. the gloves are great, totally comfortable and warm, no sensation of temperature change due to wind. had a thought, my old box truck would make a killer mobile sign to park outside your shop. it runs, drives, etc. but is in rough shape, a rattle can paint job and some nice lettering would be perfect, make it some crazy color and nobody would miss your shop! if you want it, it's yours ($0.00).

cool, i really think a giant mobile billboard outside your shop might have a decent affect on walk in traffic. me thinks you may need a tire dismount machine as well.

another idea,
a small cheap tv from wallmart on a wall mount with bike vids looping. get crazy and split the line to a second small set in the window looping all night, every rider that goes by at night will see it! cheap, high impact additions.
