??? It was my belief that only H-D riders thought that there were Real Motorcycles (Harleys) and everything else was not a Real Motorcycle. This is where I live - a guy in a cage HIT a motorcycle and drove away, and the D.A. doesn't see any reason to prosecute. So do you mean to say that Harley's aren't motorcycles or Buell riders from Buffalo don't count? Oz | ||

Neither and I don't mean to attack your post either. It's just that I can go to any other MC board and read random accident posts add infinitum. We don't have a habit of doing that here and I hope that we do not get into that habit... | ||

Would he have to be riding a blue XB9R to be one of our own? XBR? XB? Tuber? A Buell of any type perhaps? People believe only the bandana wearing Harley-Davidson types are discriminate against all other motorcyclists. Although he may not be my "brother" he is afterall riding a motorcycle and laws seem to have been circumvented. If the article had been about a guy riding a Buell, some guy who owns some other brand would most likely have posted a like statement. We are all God's children, why can't we all just get along (except Jap bike riders) just kidding  | ||

I consider all riders regardless to be part of the brotherhood until they prove themselves to be ass holes or squids. I also can't stand those who refuse to ride with others because of the brand of style of bike they ride. (Message edited by cataract2 on March 01, 2006) | ||

You never know, when I'm riding my Shovel Head and wearing a patched out vest.................hanging out with some of the colorful folks that I grew up with, no one would ever guess I own Buells. | ||

Midknyte: the thing of interest is that the mayors' stooge is being given a get out of jail card, there is more here that meets the eye. If I were a citizen / resident there I would be trying to get some action going that is a clear violation of the law to me lets see how it plays out oz thanks for sharing keep us posted. | ||

This is relevant to us all. A motorcycle rider gets hit and the idiot who did so is getting off with a friggin slap on the wrist. It ticks me off. I do what I can to educate others and try to get them to open their eyes and be aware of "us" motorcyclist out there. (ALL OF US) (Message edited by southernmarine on March 01, 2006) | ||

I read that, yes it sucks big time. he should have lost his DL for about 5 years or so with the proviso get caught driving get sent up on murder charges. If he is paying the family for damages (think millions $$) then yes he needs to work.  Life at times can seem like a $hit sandwhich(sp?) the more bread you have the less $hit you have to eat. an alternative would have been to make Janklow ride a bike(only) for several years (provisional drivers licence) (Message edited by oldog on March 02, 2006) | ||

I would submit that a "Balkanization" of motoryclists will not serve us very well -- the fact that HD riders dis the "Jap Crap," and Big 4 riders accuse HD owers of being outlaw wanna bees, means it will be that much easier for discriminatory laws and statues to be passed . . . while the Buellers I've met are among the greats folks I know, they are not all of the greatest folks I know -- that group would include Ducati riders, home-built chop riders, and folks that don't ride at all -- while societies around the world (including ours) seem to be reverting to a tribal mentality (the deep-seated fear of the other), it would sadden me to think this board, either through the official regualtors (not likely), or through the weight of the popular voice, would choose to ignore all that is non-Buell in nature. thanks for the bandwidth -- I'll fold up my pocket-model soap-box now ;-} | ||
