Tried to post this on the GDB, but no replies ... so here we go again: I'm going through stuff and cleaning out old magazines and such. Would 3 year of Cycle World, Sport Rider, Road Racing World and Fly Rod & Reel - years 2002 - April 2005 be something I should send to the troops in Iraq? Maybe just the latest year of each? If so, any info on where and how to send this out? Do we have any Badwebbers down there that'd be interested? Henrik |

that sounds like a good idea, where to send? do you have a plan on who will distribute them yet? If so let us know, I got a bunch I could send. Also, on the holidays I send phone cards to Walter Reed. They say they can't get enough of those either. But the guys over in the sandbox could get something out of the mags...sign me up. |

I'll send at least two boxes full. Maybe we could agree to be sure and put Bad Weather Bikers on all we ship, so they know that there's a group of folks who are doing it?

Hey. . . can we get www.badweatherbikers.com stickers made to go on all the magazines? I'll bet we could add 100 members and sell 25 Buells! Before you know it entrepreneurial Buell dealers would be creating "returning vet specials". P.S. - which reminds me. . . Southern Marine please CONTACT ME. |

Sell only 25 Buells... that's cutting yourself short. If you send them to Marines that return to Camp Lejeune the dealer would be swamped with requests to buy since HD/Buells can be bought thru the military exchange. Neat idea Court. Best way to sell a product would be word of mouth, free advertising. |

...or if you just think im a freak... Tim - I think we're all freaks. That just means you're among friends Seriously though - Thank you so much for the info and address. As Court asked; if I go to the post office with that address, they'll know what to do with it? I seem to remember there is a certain type of shipping/postage for stuff sent to troops. Anyone remember what that's called? It'd supposedly drop the shipping cost a bit, and I've probably go some 30 pounds of magazines in those piles. Thanks again Henrik |

I checked with the PO this morning. Anything we send will cost just like it is going to a US postal address. I will get some stuff together as well and get it out to you.

Tim, I posted a box of magazines this morning. I'm interested in seeing how long it takes to get to you. I sent a letter to myself and it took nearly a week. I still can't figure that one out. |

Yeeehaw. 41 lbs of magazines on the way Plus a "yet to be seen in public", brand spankin' new style Buell Racing T-shirt, autographed by the Man himself for you Tim. So don't forget to pop that box open when you receive it - and snag a few magazines for yourself while you're at it. Henrik |

Court - HD already sells Buells at a pretty deep discount here to deployed Soldiers. It's called the Exchange New Car Sales program. They sell cars and trucks too. They've got three Harleys here at Camp Arifjan, and every once in a while I go sit on one and make potato-potato sounds, (in my head, not out loud). After my last deployment to Iraq I was thinking about buying a Buell from them, but then decided to get it from a dealer near Fort Polk, LA where I was stationed. However, when I got extended past twelve months in country, the dealer couldn't hold onto the bike for me. I've decided to get my Buell from Clown (Cameron) at Stone Mountain HD/B in Atlanta, because I'd rather deal with an actual person rather than a guy over email or on the phone. I'm sure he'll give me a good deal. |
