Wow..that's commonly thought of as "the age of reason". Does that mean we have to start acting reasonably? |

Blake's first post on the MO "Open Bikini Bike Shootout, before he bought his Buell and started all this BADWEB mess: Blake Thu Jan 15 23:20:26 PST 1998 Howdy all. I'm currently stuck on four wheels and am looking with fervent eagerness to get back on two. So much so that I've been spending the last few evenings trolling the internet trying to narrow down my list of prospective bikes. After reading the entire series of commentaries above, I am more positive than ever that a Beull is the beast for me. I do however have some questions: 1. I'm 6'3". Is my right knee going to argue with that (the only thing I don't like on the Beulls) massive airbox? 2. I plan some serious mileage. When I ride long distance my legs screem for highway pegs (I fully expect to get lambasted for asking this); any well designed highway pegs for an S3, M2 or S1? Any other tall Bueller's out there that can comment on highway ergonomics? I definitely prefer to lean on the bars at highway speeds rather than hang on; of course a neutral stance is optimum. 3. What kind of deal can I expect on either a new '97 or a new '98 Beull. 4. Anybody got a spare $13,000 they can let me have for a new S3T? now Blake's got his Buell, and he's got it bad: Blake Tue Feb 3 22:02:05 PST 1998 Anyone interested in joining/forming a newsgroup/email list concerning Buell motorcycles send email stating such to me at "b&mrudy@...". I've searched far and wide and have not found a Buell specific group. If anyone knows of one already in existence, please let me know. Thanks, Blake and: Blake TYR11370@... Tue Mar 10 22:05:44 PST 1998 A few of us have formed an informal Buell email group. Everyone is welcome and the group would appreciate the chance to gain additional viewpoints. Mostly we discuss technical stuff and mods to improve performance and ridability or just to enhance the appearance of our particular model of Buell. If you are a Buell enthusiast and would like to get on the email list, just send me an email at "b&mrudy@..." (for some reason this BBS won't accept my chosen email address so I have to show the ISP version) stating so. If you like I can also send the archive of our postings since we began a mere 5 weeks ago. Torque to ya later, Blake (major torque-a-holic) and starts putting the word out: Blake tyr11370@... Thu Apr 2 21:28:06 PST 1998 ...Anyone interested in Buell talk is welcome to join the recently formed Storm Riders/Bad Weather Bikers email group (we haven't quite decided on the name yet). Just drop me a quick email stating such and you're enrolled. We're just a bunch of super enthusiastic Buell riders and wanna-be-Buell-riders talking tech and whatever else Buellistic that crosses our minds. Any and all others are also welcome, (Jimmi?); no two wheeled snobs allowed. To borrow from a new friend: Rid toe long . . . ? er Bribe to clean . . . ? oh yeah - Ride to Lean! Blake Ferris joins in on the promotion: Jerry Haughton PACBOG@aol.com Wed May 27 16:38:19 PDT 1998 Greg and all-- We'll have our new Buell-dedicated BBS up and running soon. I'll post an announcement here when it happens. Ferris Bueller PACBOG/Sport Bike USA http://members.aol.com/pacbog/index.html and Henrik makes it official: Henrik Bo Pedersen Tue Jul 7 12:46:24 PDT 1998 There is a new Buell BBS up and running thanks to Blake Rudy. "Bad Weather Bikers" can be found at http://www.badweb.com/bikerBBS/board.html Blake, thanks for gettin' this place up on two wheels, and for keeping it there!!! ride to lean, Ferris & Denise (Message edited by jerry_haughton on February 01, 2006) |

been here since 2000. I actually changed my name once because I forgot my password and logged on as someone else under a new email address because I needed an answer to a technical question. Without question this is the best website with the most helpful people...thank you to all my fellow bad-webbers. Thank you Blake for moderating us. You seem to be good man. Maybe some day I'll get a chance to shake your hand. |

Seems like just last week we were sending email all around and I was scrambling to get a web based discussion board up and running. Check this out, a new all time record for BadWeB... For the month of January 2006 we served up over 111 Giga-Bytes of BadWeB content via 1.25 Million page requests by over 40 Thousand visitors (unique IPs). For those who count hits, BadWeB garnered 11 Million. BadWeB server traffic has averaged well over 300 kb/s for the past year with frequent peaks to 1Mb/s. January 2006 outgoing traffic was up by over 40% compared to January 2005 and up by 214% compared to January 2004! Folks from just about every nation on Earth are bumping into our little online community here. BadWeB's visitors hail from...

That reminds me... time to send out some invoices. We should probably start thinking about another major performance upgrade for the server. A dual server system maybe. I've noticed a slow-down of late. We can't have that. BadWeB should be one of the best handling discussion boards on the web. Thanks to all who have made BadWeb a fun, positive, informative, and just plain enjoyable place to check in and talk Buell, bikes, or whatever (yes I'm talkin' about you Char ). Here's to another eight fun and informative years. Now, y'all send me a bunch of calendar pics! I need some nice pics! Send to blake at badweatherbikers dot com. |

Wow, "So. Cal. Buell Night at Dennys in Corona, CA." from the URB'n Assaults link in the PACBOG web site. I remember that night! Met Tat and the Birdman with his graphics-laden S3, and the original founders of the SCAB riders -- still going on today! Actually this Thursday, 2/2/06, is a SCAB meeting! What a legacy!! Happy Birthday BadWeatherBikers! Blake, you are a prince among men for making this website happen for the rest of us! Sparky |

You can add Kuwait to that list, Blake. I have been coming here since 2003, and it seemed to me like this thing had been going since the dial-up BBS days, the way it's so well-organized. Congratulations, and here's to another 8, and another 8 after that, and...well, you get the point. |

Many happy returns to Blake, BadWeb and all its members. Time certainly flies by. UKBEG has been around 8 years on 1st April 2006. I put it on the web as ukbeg.org.uk the 31st December 1999. I must be getting old. |

In 1997 I had just purchased an S3 and was actively searching for an S2 and some buddies to go riding with. I stumbled on to some cat in the great North-wet named Ferris Bueller and the trouble began. I bought a computer to go with the Buell so I could stay up on PACBOG stuff and then I got dupped into this e-mail group called BadWeB. Another thing I can blame on Ferris. Since those apparently innocent beginnings I have purchased numerous Buells, worked on the Team Elves effort, painted many Buells, rode across the country several times and have become a real motorcycle gypsy. All of which I can blame on Ferris. Even Blake, under the guise of BadWeB administrator, can take credit for some of my motorcycle problems but I'd bet that his influence was also Ferris's fault. Hell one of my best friends named their bike "Ferris's Fault". Okay. Rant over. Happy birthday BadWeB and thanks Blake and Ferris. |
