Anyone buy "motorcycle" jeans. You know the kind with kevlar reinforcement ( or any other type for that matter). I was looking for a pair of jeans I can wear on my bike and have some protection and yet still be able to go places without looking to out of place (well more than usual  ). Any thoughts? | ||

Leather pants are the only way to go. Chicks dig 'em. I have some of the Joe Rocket jeans and they're comfortable enough, albeit considerably warmer than normal jeans. I think anything with an extra layer of any kind of material adds protection, but nothing is as good as leather IMO. | ||

I wear draggin jeans 90% of the time. Once you wash them a couple of times they are pretty comfortable. When it's really hot I wear regular jeans and a mesh pant. The jeans are not as good as leather or good cordura but a heck of a lot better than regualr jeans. I've had three pair for 5 years and just threrw out the most used pair. Will replace those and others as they wear out. I've done about 85,000 miles in those years. | ||

I wear the Draggin jeans whenever I ride. They're very comfortable and look like any other nice jeans. Hopefully, I'll never find out how effective they are in a fall. | ||

I have a pair of Draggin Jeans, but I prefer to wear my leathers. There are two Draggin Jeans, it would seem--the American-made ones (which I have), and the Australian-made ones, which are available here in Canada. They do not appear to be the same--the Aussie ones have different styles, including some casual pants. A company here in BC, KBO Clothing, used to make 'em too, but their website seems to be down, and I didn't see them at the recent Vancouver Motorcycle Show. They used to make riding gear for the RCMP, but I belive they may no longer be in business--which would be a drag, as one service I was told they offer is to install kevlar inserts in your own jeans, you just send them in. | ||

At 80 degrees or below I wear Draggin Jeans,above that I switch to Icon Recon jeans they are a bit cooler. I went down once in the Recons. The jeans were undammaged,but got a 50 cent piece sized roadrash on my knee. I have gone down in jeans in the past which disintegrated far faster giving more rash,Doh,My conclusion is Leather and ce armor is best but at high temps and low speeds the kevlar jeans keep your mind on the road and not how hot you are. | ||

I prefer Vanson jeans. They use heavy cordura under the denim instead of kevlar (I suspect they would slide better if worn through, but I have no intention of testing that). What I really like about them is that they have the protection over a larger area than the Draggin's. | ||

I have both the Icon and Joe Rocket jeans.. I like the Icon better. |
