I took the train down to NYC today to go to the show. It was definitely worth the trip. The weather was so great that I wish I had ridden.

The Buell display was a busy place. I got to meet Trevor from the factory who said he worked on the new tranny. I gave him a hug!

For some reason the Orange Uly kept falling over.

My Ulysses is right behind the V-rod next to the tree. It was a good show. I also caught a glimpse of the famous Court to say hello.

Here's another pic of the bikes parked at the Javits Center. I couldn't believe how many bikes were on the road in January in NY.

I just got back from the show. It was sooo crowded! Buell had a great display with lots of bikes. Very impressive!

I wasn`t that impressed with Honda`s display, they only had 1 1000RR in red for display. There lots of complaints from people about not having the new Blue and yellow RR displayed or even more RR to look at. Oh well

I counted over 10 of the Special Yamaha R1 at the show, and they only are getting 500 in the US. Very nice bike!

Went Sat with a few friends, and it sure was crowded, but worth it. It seemed all the manufactures were present, except KTM for some reason. I would have thought they would have had a lot to show, with the Motards and 950 Adventurer, and also arnt there some prototypes of a radical street sports bike? odd they failed to show..

It wasn't crowded at all when Court & I went on Friday afternoon. The Buell booth was very nicely laid out and it didn't exude that "Don't touch" vibe that most other booths give off. The friendly Buell atmosphere made you want to sit on every bike.
As for the rest of the show - I have to admit that I wasn't really that impressed with it. The Ducati, Aprillia, MV Augusta and Beemer booths had some interesting hardware. I must have missed the Triumph display, as I didn't see any British bikes.
I met some Badwebbers - That's always a plus.

I agree with Jersey guy, the Buell site was very friendly, and no 'dont touch, sit' vibes...

I was there saturday. Crowded yes but a great time. The folks at the Buell booth were great. When I got there I asked about the shirt and before I knew it they handed it out with great smiles. I was even thanked for all the work we as customers do spreading the word about Buell. Got to meet Seth and spoke with him for a bit. Bumped into BuellBob and talked a bit. I could not find the Triumph booth. Anyway great time wish I could have met more of you.

I got a couple of shirts too - without asking. All BS aside, Buell is really a good company and I'm glad to be a member of the "family".

The Buell booth was wonderful. Help was a tad shy, but hey . . .

The best part is the "touchability" of the bikes. This, highlighted by the demo program, is one of Buell's "can't touch us" strengths.

Anyone who puts a motorcycle, the "for sale" bikes, not the show bikes in the back, in a motorcycle show with a "please do not sit on this bike" sign fails to understand the Hannibal Lecther doctrine of selling motorcycle.....first we see, then we covet.

Buells were MADE to be ridden. Ridden by real riders.

This is the point I made when I rode a quite famous, quite gorgeous and quite valuable Buell the better part of 1,000 miles one day, through below freezing and above 110F, to place it in the Guggenheim. My point was, if you can't ride it, why own it.

Buell did a spectacular job at the IMS show and I expect to see a spike in sales in the coming 60 days.

Buell does an extraordinary job of providing a "hands on pre-purchase" stimuli. My bet is that you get some guys kid and wife sitting on a Buell that DaveS, Clown, Moose or Jeff could close the sale in 15 minutes.

Good is.

By the way . . . the red head kid, with the green shirt on the orange Buell has got to me one of my favorites.....to me, that's poster stuff!

Anyone beside me remember those days when the kid down the street had the big Harley sitting in his driveway, half the cheerleaders were there watching as he washed it and once in a while he'd hoist you into the saddle and let you put your hands on the bars?

That's where it all starts.

I ALWAYS try to recreate that scene, Court, cept it was a Triumph in my boyhood . . . . waving at kids, helping em onto the bike (with Mom's permission) is part of the way we pay back our debt to our sport . . . . .

On the ST1300 board a couple guys were complaining about a lack of sportbikes and sport-tourers. They felt that the show was too cruiser heavy (pun intended) and cruiser attitude plus stunters. Did you get that feeling?

Iamike - absolutely. I was dying to see the new Moto Guzzi Norge ST bike, unfortunately they forgot to bring it. The Guzzi Griso was pretty cool though.
