Here goes, About this time every year we are up to our eyeballs in snow and I mean SNOW. The grass is still showing, bugs crawling around. The temperature is usually around 0 celsius or colder and at least 6 feet of snow on the ground. I have only had the snowblower out once and really didn't have to do that only for I had to justify the service I did prior to the so called winter season. Well this year there is absolutely NO snow and the temps this past week have averaged about 10 degrees celsius, yesterday it was 15. Is anyone else experiencing abnormally mild weather??? I am very glad I didn't buy a snowmobile this year. | ||

We're about 57 degrees here in NW Arkansas, we had hail the other night with a Thunderstorm and 50 degrees. I am not complaining though, I love it, more riding days. | ||

Here in SE NY it was about 60 degrees farenheit about 4 days ago. Last night it went down to -1 deg farenheit. The weather is crazy, you are not alone. | ||

Hey Newfie, I'm on the other side of the country. The middle of souther BC. We are having the mildest winter since I moved here 25 years ago. I't hardly been below freezing for the last three weeks. I even let the wood-stove go out last week, and haven't bothered to re-light it. Thank goodness the ski hills are getting lots of snow at their elevations, as we are getting mostly rain. If this is global warming, bring it on! | ||

60 degrees yesterday, snowing this morning. The mountains 15 miles dues west have been getting ALL the snow this year. I think I've only had to shovel 3 days this season. Maybe those stingy Seattle guys can send some moisture this way?  | ||

Not to worry Bill, they say the sun is radiating a tad more than in the recent past, we should be slowly emerging from the mini-iceage of the late millennium. Really difficult to define by analysis of day to day temperatures, but a trend i have been observing over 35 years here at latitude 59 North. Right around the freezing point here in Homer Alaska, our ice racing "season" has yet to materialize this year, but there is still hope. of more concern is local volcanic activity, we have had some "venting" of ash, which as you know can block the solar radiation, and cause local cooling. so many variables, so much time. with an average life span of 80 years or so, it is really hard for an individual to understand much. | ||

as to snow cover, we have a scant 2 or 3 inches. probably had a foot or so in november/december, but it is mostly gone, had some warm rains and a week of temps in the forties in december. ( i think in Fahrenheit) | ||

Well, when I landed in Va last week, it was WARM, I mean, no jacket, just a t-shirt...., by the time I drove up to mass, there was snow, ice, and all the cold that i hate abou the northeast(which is one of the reasons I moved south).... It snowed here teh nigth before last, and yesterday(western mass), you want som eof that Newfie? Its also COLD here....lol But, hopefully it will still be somewhat warm in Va when i get back there...I need a 2 wheeled fix..havent been able to ride the scoot since early Oct chase | ||

Here in New England... Two days ago warm 50F ish Today Wind as hell and 5F We had around a foot of snow in melted then froze into about 3" of ice. That melted and here we await the next thing ma nature will throw our way. We have had unusually warm weather lately. | ||

This winter has been incredibly mild here in mid-Missouri. The mercury dips down for a week or so then pops back up again. Beautiful. Now that I've said that it'll probably be -10 F tomorrow just to spite me.  | ||

Here in Minnesota it's been miserable- temps in the 30s almost everyday and near zilch snow. Dang shop is too hot, even with the woodstove damper closed all the way it's 75 degrees in here. I've been out riding about half the days, just put the tarp on the sidecar rig in expectation of half an inch of snow tonight. How the heck am I supposed to get the bike in for winter rebuild when it's warm enough to ride?! | ||

It's a 1983 BMW R80ST with Avon Distenza (dual sport) tires hooked to a Motorvation Spyder sidecar ( www.motorvation.com ). Works pretty good in the snow, thought it's no 4x4. | ||
