After being without my bike for almost a month, the mail man brought some goodies from Appleton today and she's back on the road! I usually make most of my trip to work on the interstate, but tonight I decided to do the first part of it on the backroads. I think my body was stiffer than the bike! What a month away does! After tooling along under 50 for 7 or 8 miles and making sure everything felt good, I jumped out on the interstate and joined in the 80 mph flow that always exists there. Wayy before I wanted it to, my exit appeared. I swear I had a Walter Mitty moment as I hit the tight 180 degree ramp at double the posted speed. (please don't start singing "Breakin' the law".) The bike just dug in and we went around the curve like she was riding on a rail. My fantasy moment was interrupted by an even more beautiful sight. As I stood the bike up and headed onto the the road to work I was greeted by the most beautiful full moon reflecting off of Lake Monroe! (the same lake that I get to watch the Alligators in during the summer mornings)The sky was so clear it looked like you could see every star in the universe! It is 75ish tonight here and I could not ask for a more perfect ride to work. I was busy watching the reflection of the moon on the water as I rode along the banks, and just happened to notice that I was putting along at 45. By then it was time to turn away from the lake and head on to work. All is right with the world here tonight for sure!

Man I hate it when my ride is down. No matter how well everything else in life is going, I'm dragging like a 6 year old that's being denied any ice cream. My buddy at work has a 900 monster and can't stand to watch my pathetic display and will do all he can to help expedite it's completion. Anyway glad your back!

I won't be riding my Buell until Mid April or the roads get a good washing of the salt.

I'll stick to the DR650 for now but it don't corner like the S1.

Good Story Vegas.

Buellfighter: My wife said I was acting like I had a double dose of PMS. It's like withdrawals!

Ouch Newfie! I loved to ride my old CR125 in the snow when I was a kid. Man that was so much fun.
