This on the news right now, Arnold crashed into a car while driving his Harley with his son in the side car. Apparently they are both ok, the governator got 15 stitches according to the news..

glad to hear they are OK but... does it bother anyone that the headlines are placing blame on the motorcyclist? the SUV pulled out in front of THEM.

Governor slightly hurt in motorcycle accident Schwarzenegger gets 15 stitches on lip after hitting car

"after hitting car" ?? how about "after SUV pulls out into path of his motorcycle"

i don't like how the article is in jokey form, a lot of bikers get seriously injured or killed by cars pulling out into their path.

I read the article and it did mention the person was backing out of a drive way that had bushes blocking its view, and that the motorcycle did hit the car and the car was "probably" at fault.

I don't think one could ask for more than that.

If the car pulled out into their path then the car is at fault being the motorcyclist had the right of way.

BTW, I never knew he rode.

When we used to visit the Rock Store frequently, Arnold used to show up there with his posse early on weekend mornings. Shoulda seen when some guy's pet monkey (no kidding) jumped onto the table and started eating Arnie's oatmeal. Classic.

This was pre-governator. Like lotsa celebs, he just wanted to have a half-normal existence and didn't much like the attention he got when he just wanted to ride & eat breakfast.

Don't think he liked the monkey too much....

I'm glad the Governator is ok...it makes me mad that the Volvo driver was not issued a ticket.

The Governator has been riding bikes for a long time. I was passing through Cali' in the late 80's, he was at a local Surf'n'Turf with his H-D.
I'd like to see him as a rep for AMA too. I'll try to dig up the pic and post it. Its not a good pick do to the crowd of people around him.

Give the Terminator a fat lip, walk away free — but maybe Schwarzenegger will get a ticket the next time he rides

What does it take to get a traffic citation for hitting a motorcyclist? Apparently, backing your car into the path of the Governator and giving him a fat lip still isn't enough.

California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger was riding his Harley-Davidson sidecar rig with his 12-year-old son on Mandeville Canyon Road in the Santa Monica Mountains on Sunday when a woman backed her car out of her driveway into his path.

The Los Angeles Times quoted a police spokesman as saying the car driver was not cited because the collision was "an unfortunate accident."

The governor was taken to a hospital and got 15 stitches in his lip. His son was not seriously injured.

As it turns out, the governor's lucky the law didn't come down on him, rather than the driver. The Times reported that Schwarzenegger doesn't have a motorcycle endorsement on his California drivers license, so the former movie star's frequent recreational motorcycle rides are illegal.

But in this case, he got off on a technicality. Operating a sidecar rig doesn't require a motorcycle endorsement under California law.

He's setting a good example by not having a license . I guess in his country breaking the law is accepted ! He should be ticketed .Can't imagine he even got elected .

He didn't break the law on the three wheeler. It is okay to operate with a regular california drivers license....but...if

gets out his two wheeler bikes, then yes, he is driving illegally......could get him kicked out of further elections....not obeying the law..rex

Funny thing is that his entire protective detail consists of CHP officers...

Yet he was in JUST in an accident, sidestepped not having a license this time, and has ridden on previous occasions without one.
You'd think they'd of noticed?

Actually in CA if your riding a bike with three wheels (side car has one wheel) then you need not have a motorcycle endoresement...A class C will suffice.
