I'm going to be bringing my family to the IMS at the Javitts Center. Between tickets for the show, gas and meals, it gets pretty expensive. Is there a cheaper alternative for parking than the lots near the center? Last time we went it cost $40.00 to park for less than six hours. If I could save a few bucks, it would be helpful.

yep- seeing as you're coming in from new england, take a train from Ct. or Upstate NY (Brewster North on the "Harlem Line", or New Haven on the "New Haven Line")....train'll drop you at Grand Central, which is a short walk from the Javits Center...between fuel savings AND parking savcings, the train tix will pay for themselves

It's actually a long walk from Grand Central to the Javits Center. It's a much shorter walk from Penn Station.

Once you get into Grand Central, should you take the Metro North down to NYC, you can take the S shuttle train across town. It is a short ride.

It'd save ya a load of $$ to take the train into Grand Central or Penn Station (whichever works) and just hop in a cab for 5$.

By the way . . . you know what you call "$40 to park for 6 hours in NYC"........CHEAP

Crusty, you could also take the Bonanza bus in from Providence. Free parking at the bus station, comfortable ride in, not too bad a walk to the Javits center. Just a thought. see you there.

I'll be down there Saturday. I'm gonna meet up with my Concours Owners' Group geezers for lunch. See you all down there. We'll be the guys staring at the 20 year old design, scratching our heads, and wondering when Kawasaki is gonna update it.
