That's an excellent deal. Kelly Blue Book lists the bike at $6100 retail with low mileage and in excellent original condition which I assume the bike is. I would jump at that.

Cool thanks for the info! The bike isnt in excellent condition its dirty as hell and doesnt look like it was garage kept. Looks like it has a small leak around the primary and may need a O ring change somewhere.

I paid $6,000 for the exact same bike with the same mileage from a dealer last March. It had new tires, new filters, all pertinent maintenance done and it was absolutely pristine. I concur with Tramp. Offer him $4k.

Yea its some jack dealership in Portsmouth Va! They dont want the bike on there floor so they havent bothered to clean it or even take care of it. They dont sale Buells, its a trade in. I dont think they are gonna budge off there price, so Ill just let them squirm. They had $7000 on it till I told them what book was

if that dealership really feels they can justify the floorspace hogging, let 'em keep it.

At least have them clean it and fix the leak for that price.
I do not have any used 9S bikes in stock right now.
Would a 12S work for you?
12R maybe?

The bike is gonna be for my wife! I ride a V-rod so she is gonna need something with good pep to keep up. I think the XB12's might be too much bike for her.

The 12 might be too much for her right now...but she doesn't have to ride it to the limits (until she is more comfortable). Personally, I have learned not to buy what fits now but instead to buy for what's possible. Besides I was just looking on the bikes for sale section and saw several 9's for less than what that dealer is asking...

Just my .02

I started on a 12, albeit an X-1, but it was a 12 nonetheless. The only problem I had (my first wreck)was because of too fast for my experience in a corner, which could have happened on a 250 ninja.

Don't discount the 9 motor. They have a smoother power delivery to me than the twelves and less likely to lift the front tire. The 9s do not have as much low end torque as the 12s but add the race kit and the 9s with hang on the heels of the 12s or the V-rod.

Also the Lightning comes in a low version. In either the 9s or the 12s you can get a Lightning with a 28" seat height. A great light weight bike that is easy to ride. You will just have to remind her to slow down for you in the curves. The bike are so solid that she will be just cruising though some curves and you will be scraping parts.

Beautiful Rod. This is the second V-rod in a short period of time I've seen in pictures with an XB front wheel. It just makes the bike with the black wheels. It really gives it the muscle bike look.

That V-rod is beautiful. Did you have to machine any parts to get the front brake to attach to the forks.

tell 'em you'll give them $4500, that's all you have at this moment, you just paid your rent (it IS Jan. 2nd), and if they don't wanna clean it for that money, fine. If they don't wanna sell it for that, that's fine as well.
say: "It's all the money I have, I just paid rent"
is it a cash deal, is it financing, what?

Its a cash deal!! Thanks for all the comments on my Rod. Yes I had to have a front bracket machine made so the front brake would match up to the V-rod forks. Also had to have made front wheel spacers rear wheel spacers rear rotor and have the rear pully modified.
