Speed doesn't cover it anymore. I mean..why would they you know?

It's now on Outdoor Life Network (OLN). Coverage is not as good as it used to be but it's better than nothing. I live for this race.

We should start our own cable channel for motorsports. Who knows how?

We could start it as an internet channel!
Then everyone could get it around the globe.

I know there have to be some smart people on this board that could get something going.

I'v heard of TV channels starting from webcasts, so who knows, we get enough followers it could take off.

Preach on! I bet we could land some decent ratings. At least better than "The Book Network"

How about the "Club Channel"... "We beat the competition." Start out by covering club races, FUSA, WERE, AFM, CMRA, SCCA, dirt track, whatever...

Who knows how to video tape a race?

I just bought me a killer video camera but I doubt it's pro quality. My only video experience is clouds of mud, bridge abutments and ship hulls underwater anyway. I might be alright filming the Dakar in the middle of a sandstorm...

Gotta be careful filming the Dakar though; those rabs will pilfer the camera and steal your ride as quick as you can turn and spit.

I hope those guys get decent coverage at the Dakar. I hope to sponsor them next year if they think they could use my stuff. I'll be rooting for them.

Hey that looks like it started life as aV-Rod..

Anyway, you know what kills me about the NASCAR channel..when it first started, or at least when I first saw it in 97 think.. you could see, rally, GT, F1, Off shore, Boat drags, car drags, hill climb, mud drags, jsut about anythign BUT NASCAR... what the happened? Oh yeah, NASCAR pays more, nevermind...

BTW, when did it change to the nascar channel anyway, havetn had a TV for a while now...

Is there a link to follow the Dakar?
With pics I hope.

I want to see Rocket riding alongside the racers.

I believe that Jim Armstrong has put some links on the americansportbikenight.com site. we have a couple of folks over there racing. Jim is also podcasting our American Sport Bike Night meetings. one of the americans running in dakar to paris, comes to our American Sport Bike Night meetings and talks to us about the race. Nice stuff and jim does a good job. rex

Rocket running the Dakar. Now that brings a vivid image to mind. But not as far-fetched as you might think.

Why, if you put a pub and a few topless birds at the finish line of every stage, he might be a serious contender...

On Foot!

I came down with a bad headache earlier so went to bed, on my own and without Liz. Woke up and went to my mum's for a cup of Rington's finest Yorkshire tea at the stroke of midnight.

Best way to bring in the new year. Anyway, my mum's better looking than Liz. Eidipus, your mothers on the phone

American Sport Bike Night pal Charlie Rauseo is currently in 100th place and one of his teammates is in 24th place. That's out of 226 riders.

Go Team Rally Pan America!

French Version of www.Dakar.com gives the standings: Look under "Classements" there.
