It's a joke rocket. We are in no way making fun of rag heads on this forum....Besides because of many American misunderstandings it was put out by the "rag heads" that those are not rags on their heads but more like little sheets. So from now on they would prefer to be called " little sheet heads" Again....it's just a joke. | ||

I've heard that joke before. I always thought it made more fun of Americans than anyone else. But..., racist name calling really does hurt, especially when it's aimed at young, impressionable people. I guess I just don't feel the outrage when I read stuff like this on the forum. Believe me, there's plenty of racist terms used here - "Jap" being the most notable - but I've never read anyone complaining about that one. | ||

I don't like any jokes that play on hateful tones of any kind. I do appreciate ethnic humor in good fun that pokes fun at our various cultural uniqueness or racial stereotypes. If you cannot laugh at yourself, then you are the one with the problem. I'm not sure where the above "joke" falls. I don't think that if I were of Arab or Pashtun descent that I'd be offended. It's more a jab at bigotry in America than anything else. The humor as alwasy is in the irony. How can a self deprecating joke be hypocritical?  | ||

Hypocritical because 'towelhead' is ok but 'nigger' isn't. Poking fun at the French seems acceptable too on the BadWeB, since France wouldn't back the invasion of Iraq. There should be one clear rule. Racism in any form shouldn't be tolerated on the BadWeB. Recently there's been a lot of it. Rocket | ||

Englishman, Frenchman, Mexican and a Texan, all on one airplane together. Airplane loses one engine and can't maintain altitude. Occupants throw overboard every unused piece of luggage and equipment, but the airplane is still descending when the Englishman steps to the open door and yells "GOD SAVE THE QUEEN!", then leaps to his death. The airplane stabilizes in altitude. But soon the second engine quits. Not to be outdone by the Brit, the Frenchie steps to the door, hollars "VIVA le FRANCE" and jumps to his death. The airplane stabilizes in altitude. But then engine #3 quits. The brave Texan stands in the open door and shouts "REMEMBER THE ALAMO!".... .... and throws the Mexican out the door. | ||

We have become a nation that thanks everything is racist. We get our feelings hurt at every little thing that someones says. Black people do not like us to call them niggers but they call each other that all the time. I would never call anyone a nigger but I would use it in a joke. I am not or never have been a racist person. A joke is just a joke. I watched Tina Turner on 60 min. and of course they had to bring up the race issue. Morley asked her why she lived in a white world. She got a kick out of that. Tina stated that she was black and had even been called a nigger and it did not brother her. She said that it was just a way of saying she was black. You think all black people call us ,white people. No they have their own names for us. If you want to hear some racist jokes listen to black comedians. Not only do they make fun of us but they give their own people a hard time. It is all in fun. A joke is a joke and nothing more. I have said this on several posts you people need to chill out. | ||

Thanks but I'm very chilled. Blake, what we have here is an internet forum. No one can see the difference between 'towelhead' and 'sand nigger'. All that can be seen is a joke written containing certain words. It isn't about seeing. It's about perception. It's your board. You know therefore who the perceivers are. If you're comfortable with that, so be it. Don't expect my vote for such language on an internet forum though. Rocket | ||

Now as someone who has some Polish blood in him, I must object to the blatant racism embodied in the countless jokes that come at our expense. It brings tears to my eyes ...... well, actually I laugh at these jokes as they are quite funny! I think we can all tell the difference in intent and effect between the joke cited above and a racial slur. Well, perhaps not all of us can! | ||
