ok, lets see if i can explain this enough so someone can give me a name to it. might be hard, i haven't seen it for awhile.

it was made in im guessing the 70's or so

if i remember correctly a couple guys robbed a bank or something(not sure but the cops were chasing them for some reason). they picked up some skinny little blonde at a gas station along the way when they were running, and then tried to dump her off places along the way, but couldn't get rid of her.

they also had a few different cars along the way. if i remember right the first one was a pale yellow something(think dodge?) and then they dumped that and got into a dayglo green cuda i think it was. at one point they had some cop with what was suposed to be there secret weapon cop car that was fairly fast and was keeping up with them. the ending they were in this huge section of criss crossin roads in this wooded area that was hard for the cops to block all the exits to. they finally got away from the cops and should of been home free. instead flew across the train tracks and got hit by a train.

????????????????????????????????????????????????

Yep, that's the one.
Peter Fonda starred in it.

they start out in a 68 caprice with a wicked sounding set of pipes. then i think it is a 69 yellow charger. neat chase through a grid of roads.

Anyone recognize this movie?

It starts out with a botched robbery and winds up in the jungles of South America where three men transport nitro-glycerine in a beat up truck to blow out an oil pump fire.

Not a great flick, but a memorable "road" movie.

"Sorcerer" - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0076740/

It's a pretty cool flick; I got a DVD of it this year on ebay. IMHO, the part where they blow up the tree is the coolest single explosion sequence ever filmed in a movie.

O.K., the two cars used in Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry were:

The blue four door in the beginning of the movie was a 1966 Chevy Impala.

The other car, and the reason to watch the movie, was a 1969 Dodge Charger. The Charger was painted Curious Yellow, a 1971 Dodge High Impact color, a custom painted black stripe with "440" near the tail in the stripe, and it wore Fenton slotted wheels. Like in most movies some of the details come and go, half of the time it wore R/T badges, half the time it didn't. Very cool car, and a fun movie.

BTW:The "hot" police car was a 1973 Dodge Polara Pursuit package car.

My time as an internet "expert" is up.

I had a '72 Polara police pursuit special. My father had been a salesman for years, driving fleet cars. When it came time to buy one of his own, our next door neighbor ran a Dodge dealership. So... Dad ordered his car out of the fleet catalog. Cop wheels, brakes, suspension, 360 cop only package with a 850? Thermoquad. Also Black vinyl top. LOL

I've done car shows for years, and always get some expert tell me the car did not exist. It ate local cop cars for breakfast. Don't ask how I know.

i have no idea how many times i've watched two lane blacktop. hard core guy movie for sure. the wife watched it with me one time and keep saying "they never say anything!". my best friend from high school and until his death in 1981 had a unspoken connection where we just knew what each other was thinking. never have had one like that since.

Mr Grumpy- yeah, I was bit hard at a young age by the Mopar bug, but what did it for me was a '65 Coronet 500 that had a Hemi dropped in it that my folks had. Before that, the car was driven by my grandmother! My folks were broke and needed a car after the T-bird they had for years up and died. My grandfather sold it to my dad for a buck. My family wasn't into cars at all so this thing being passed around was even more astonishing.

The first time my mom, who was used to driving a 6 cyl powered 65 Bel-Air made the mistake of matting the gas from a stand still at the top of an entrance ramp, the ensuing insanity and rush of power and acceleration changed my life. Dedicated ever since.

The only other addiction that comes close is that I have for my Buell...........
