There's an unofficial Saturday gathering at some Denny's near the show. Many Buellers - but it's not by any means exclusive. Lotsa fun folks jabbering with plenty of Grease to lube the conversations.

My better half and I will hopefully be there.

Dora,
We usually meet at Denny's restaurant (Long Beach Blvd. and 6th Street) for breakfast on Saturday morning before the show, and then do the demos first before browsing around the show.

Should be a few Buellers there, along with some other brands. Last year there was probably a dozen or so people who showed up to visit over breakfast before heading to the show.

I will most likely be there, but I'm not sure yet. Got tons of stuff going on right now and there just ain't enough hours in the day. It will be a good excuse to take a break though.

One year a few of us went for an unofficial ride after the show. We went around PV Drive, stopped for the view at Lunada Bay and had eats & drinks at Redondo Beach Saloon. I'm thinking maybe a stop at Texas Loosey's might be in order this year! Waddya think?

I think there should be a booth featuring sacborg, atc, asbn, and badweather bikers promoting buell enthusiasts and their sites.

Keep an eye open for the new aprilia and ducati supermotard style bikes. they look good in the press.

Timbo - thanks for posting that Denny's location!!! Is Betty going to be coming along?

I can drive there but couldn't remember the streets and Denny's website didn't help me

Want to just set a time here and now?

Sunny and I are officially going to head down in the car, not doing the bikes since it's below freezing and dark at departure time from here in Palmdale.

Hi Steve,
7:30 is when I heard to be there.

Glad to hear you and Sunny are coming. It'll be good see you guys again. Seems like it's been forever.

Betty isn't planning on coming at this time. Maybe if I ask her "pretty please"...

We'll see you there at 730

Sounds like Dora (Buellgirlie) can be there (if her booth duty doesn't over-rule it), Steve B (maybe Wendy), maaaybe Tim and Candice (they're starting to get their lives back to normal now)

If Betty can't make it, tell her we said "HI!"

The IMS show was great. My dad and I went today, it was our first. I went to demo the Buells and my dad wanted to see the Kawasaki ZX14R. I finally got to ride the bikes I have been lusting after for a year and a half. We got the free shirts just because I was wearing my sling bag and Buell hat. I also got a pair of Tour Master gauntlet gloves with carbon knuckles for $30. Deals were everywhere. Aside from almost getting run over by a Toyota 4x4 on my first demo ride, everything was perfect.

looks like i need to get faster mirrors. : )

too many cool bikes there to pick a fave, but the new 2006 Yamaha FZ1 would be very tempting if i were in the market for a new hot rod.

me 'n D took a two-day vacation (anyone else would just call it a normal weekend off) and did the show on Saturday.

plenty of great stories from the weekend, but here's one of the best:

we stood in line for about 20 minutes to get Colin Edwards' autograph. just before it was our turn i punched up Jim Corso/Pdxs3t on the cell phone and rubbed his nose in the fact that he was up in Portland and me 'n D were doing the show.

he's cool about it, we laughed, and i gave him a couple hundred word rundown of what we'd seen and done so far (conveniently leaving out the part that we were standing five feet from Colin Edwards).

by now it's our turn with the Texas Tornado, at which point i whispered, "Hey Colin, do me a HUGE favor? It'll take like five seconds of your time. Wouldya grab my cell phone and say 'Hi Jim, this is Colin Edwards!'"

Colin flashed a huge grin and never missed a beat. he took my phone and said, "Hi Jim, this is Colin Edwards, where ARE you, man???"

to which i assume Corso stammered, "Um, er, Vancouver, Washington!"

to which Colin said, "So what's the deal, ya too cheap to grab a plane ticket and get your down to the show?"

i about popped a gasket, and for the next minute or so Colin was ear-to-ear grin, shuckin' and jivin' with Jim like they were old ridin' buddies.

Colin took his time, invited Corso to come see him at Laguna Seca next year, and made Jim AND me 'n D feel really, really special.

it was a cool, righteous, classy thing to do, and was just one of about a million cool things that happened on our vaca..., er, weekend trip to Long Beach.

Ebear, didn't get your message, sorry, looking forward to your pix. agreed, Colin is a class act and a nut case; our little encounter with him was absolutely fantastic.

Crusty, yeah, will be interesting to see if Nicky can give The Doctor a run for his money for an entire season - 2006 should be fun!

Blake, the new Moto Guzzi Griso looked interesting, too. not sure if the mirrors are faster, but the muffler on it sure is. : )
