MY $00.2 worth I think battery life depends on climate. As most of you know I am a rancher with a lot of equip. I find if a battery can make through the winter it will most likely be good all summer. most of my batterys fail on the 1st. cold snap. |

not mine.
my buell has never seen the inside of a warmn garage overnight, and she starts right up in minus zero weather (like the night before last)
with no problem, on a 6 year old battery that's never
ever
not even once
seen a charger or a tender.
but then, rarely a week goes by where i don't ride. |

I have three bikes to maintain and the oldest one is ten years and thats on my SUZUKI GS750e that one is not sealed.All get floated in the winter and Michigan winters are rough. I pulled the sealed bat's on my S2's and float those inside the house.The one on the left is 4 yrs and the right is 2yrs.If they didn't cost so much I would leave them.600 MA float charger on ebay awhile back cost = $5.

that's cool. my batteries stay out in the cold shed, except for my buell battery, which stays in the bike, connected.
we get well below zero here during much of the winter.
like i say, my interstate battery on the buell has been good for over 6 years, and most of my customers' batteries are going for a good 5 minimum,no chargers or tenders.just winter disconnection.
i'm not saying it's the best way to go, just relating my own experience. |
