I know it's only race # 2 of the season, but I think Ricky and Suzuki have the hands full with Bubba and the New Kawi 450 4 stroke. And I think it's great!!

Rocco I watched it also but I also knew that he'd be the force to reckon with 2 years ago. This may not be his year but he coming and fast.

I think with the New bike, he finally has a bike that he can ride to his potential. I think Ricky's going to start to find out how he made Jeremy McGrath feel when Ricky was the new kid on the block. I like Ricky, but it's more interesting to watch when you know someone else has a chance. Now we need someone to step it up against Rossi in Moto GP and someone against Mladin in Super Bike.

To me Bubba is somewhat like Ricky in the sense that he rides balls out...and makes mistakes.Much like they said during the race though soon as he settles in he is in the hunt.

Yeah, Bubba was so talked up last year and then he ended up missing the supercross season so they talked him up for the outdoor nationals and he missed that also, so I'm not getting to excited untill I see how he does when the season starts in the U.S.

Well if any indication Bubba washed out the front end went down and still hunted him down for the win.Ricky's comment to that was "I had nothing for Bubba tonight."

I hope that red headed little buthead gets shown the door.I had the chance to see both him and Jeremy at Las Vegas a couple of years ago.I was in the pit/vendor area where they were doing autograph sessions etc. Jeremy was gracious and polite to everyone, heck he even signed my Team Elves shirt. In contrast,Ricky was rude, and would not give folks the time of day, what an arrogant .This was not raceday so it was not like anyone was ruining his concentration or such.He made a very poor showing.

Sometimes shyness and/or discomfort/illness can give the impression of arrogant rudeness. Give the kid a break FMJ, he might have been holding off on going to the restroom a bit too long and it was affecting his demeanor. He's always seemed like such a nice approachable kid in all the times I've seen him on TV.

I once couldn't help but conspicuously walk out of a meeting during the middle of our CEO's presentation. He thought I was being very rude and disrespectful until afterwards when I explained that I was in severe pain and about to my pants.

Maybe, but I have heard similar tales from other folks at that same race and other races.

Firemanjim, I'm sure if you were to meet R.C. again it would probably be better. Could of been any number of reasons for his attitude, after all he is married. I know the whole representing sponsors thing but personally I could care less if he gave me the time of day, he's still one bad mfer. I've been lucky enough to meet Jeff Ward, Jeff Emig, Brad Lackey, Kent Howerton, Guy cooper and a few others and all were extremely approachable. Went to an event the other weekend called LAST MAN STANDING in which 88 of the best riders competed during the day and into the night on a off road course that was even hard to walk on. Got to say hi to the eventual winner David Knight!

But most of the folks you are talking about are from the old school, not the new breed of arrogant athletes that seem to pop up now a days. You know what they say about first impressions and I agree he can ride, but in my book he is just not a nice person. So I am always rooting for whoever is running against him.
Rude/arrogant athletes--and people in general--have always been a pet peeve of mine. Humble and gracious is so much more appealing. As a high school wrestling coach I would not stand for it from my kids.

Otherwise you'd beat'em with a fire hose right Jim??LOL Just kidding.I met McGrath last year at Daytona, nice guy.Couldn't get close to Ricky. I used to think the same of Kurtis Roberts.Couple years ago I talked to him he was big A hole.Last year I caught him just before the Moto-X event and he was really cool.Wished him luck and went on my way.Changed my tune on what I thought of him.
