I'll toast! Cheers!

Old dog, everyone,

I like everyone am just posing my opinion, and I'm split on the issue. I see no difference whether modifying, chopping, or race prepping a Buell. In any case you're making the bike your own. In some cases, I can't help but think, that poor bike, in others I'm like, right on. Still amounts to personal preference...

Happy Turkey day everyone...

No judgment here, just an observation.

Chopper made with most honorable Buell-preserving technique:

Chopper made using 4k-mile S2 as a donor:

One more to the slaughter:

I know it's a WIP. I like the style of it as well. I was jokingly treating it as if it were complete so that I could compare the Buell-saving technique with the Buell-sacrificing one. I thought it was funny when I posted it. Now that I have explained it, the fun is all gone.

The Mutant shown above was made from an '02 M2 not a S2. I know the builder through another site I visit. He'd tell you that he purchased the M2 and other parts and what he does with them is his business. I think that is one bad Mutant Buell and I wouldn't mind owning it.

I was gonna stay out of all this..however, I just have to say that what one does to his/her own property is entirely up to them....If they want a mutant more power to them...I am so tired of motorcycle elitests (sp). It shouldn't matter what you ride as long as you ride and enjoy it...I have owned several different brands in my 30+ years on 2 wheels, and honestly haven't owned anything other than a Buell since 91...but when I sell my old bike to get a new one, I don't have any unhealthy attachments to the old bike...I look at it as more of a means to acquire the new bike I want...Case in point..here is a pic of my old M2

and here is what the Justin did to it after he bought it

In my personal opinion the bike looks great...would I want to own it as my only street bike (because that's all I can afford is one) No...It looks rather difficult to wheelie and turn..but everyone doesn't ride like that...To each his own..and who are all of you to judge another...your opinion is just that an opinion..nobody is right and nobody is wrong, because it's just not an issue.

Oh looks like the S2 has been sold, but this one looks like it will work and I heard you can make more money off ebay on the left over parts.

I've been wondering for a while how cool would an XB chopper look???? What do you guys all think????????? I just have to convince the o'l lady that I could make one real cheep, especially by parting the left overs out on ebay, what a great idea can't believe I didn't hear about this sooner!!!!!! Remember all the XLCRs that were converted to "normal" Sportsters- with the XLCR now one of the most valuable Sportsters ever, the short sighted dummies who bastardized their XLCRs are now regretting there mistake, at least during their sober moments.

Trashing a Buell to make yet another clone like "chopper" is just as stupid- there's millions of chopper style bikes out there while many Buell models were never built in quantities of more than a few thousand. And keep in mind that with that Sporty based motor so prominently displayed in the "chopper" frame the owner will forever be labled as a "girly bike" rider- heck, they'd have more cred' at the bar if the rolled up on a Vespa!

Oldog,
You don't eat the seals. Seal clubbing is a sport in Canada. It's like golf in the states. Take a look at that guys driver.

On the XB chop pics, it would be difficult to cleanly Photoshop that many different shot angles.

I dunno about anybody else, but I don't give a rat's a$$ about "cred'" at a bar.' I earned my cred' by serving my country and I maintain it by providing for my family; not by riding a friggin' motorcycle. I think that means I can ride whatever damn well please. Anyway, a person that worries about what people think of them at a bar is probably a few meetings short of completing their 12-Step.

I've ridden Vespas and they have their own coolness. The neat thing is you don't need to wear a doo-rag with flames on it, or to have your wallet chained to your droopy a$$ to be cool on a Vespa. You don't even need a set of racing leathers or a squidly painted lid. You just ride it.

Bahahahahahbahahahahah!!!!!!!!! Bar credit!!!BABABABAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH!!!!!! Some of us high and mighty Buell enthusiasts can't or won't even ride a wheelie on their bikes!! Some of you don't even ride your bikes more than 100 miles away from your house!!! Some of us won’t even work on our bikes!!!!! I'm wondering where all this chopper bashing comes from? Are you the same people I hear state behind closed doors "I hope Buells don't become to popular or sell to well cause I want the only one for miles around." When Eric started he bought a European company and chopper their bikes up to make his own models, did he not? Our Buells now are somewhat chopped up Harleys, are they not? Stop being so high and mighty, Eric isn't going to ship a new XB to your house every time you dog people who mutinize his tube frames!!! Instead mind your own business, get out and ride when it’s below 60 degrees, take your bike down some twisty roads, go on a nice long 4000 mile trip, shoot for the iron butt award. For some I have just one question. Are we spending a little to much time on the badweb?

In all seriousness, there is one easy way to protect our sacred Buells- buy 'em all up ourselves! The tubers especially are bargains- when they're going for $2000-$3000 on ebay, we may as well buy 'em up before troglodites turn 'em into a poor excuse for choppers.

We also need to talk up Buells in other forums besides preaching to the choir here (though the sacred music coming from a Buell is never boring). And to the troglodites, we need to plant FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt) in there minds long before they cast covetous eyes towards our Buell's hearts- we need to subtly remind them how we abuse those Buell engines, and that even a low mile clean looking one is ready for rebuild thanks to our frequent flirtations with redline whilst running on cheap oil. Tell them about our bad habit of clutchless shifting to, confessing though that we do occassionaly use the clutch for high RPM drop hammer starts. And don't forget to remind them what our near constant wheeley and landing cycle does to the electrics...

So I'm going to get the ball rolling by letting it be known that I'm in the market for a tuber or a Blast within a days drive of Minneapolis, and I'll pay up to $1000 for a Blast and $2000-3000 for a tuber if it needs no major repairs. I'll consider repairables and parts bikes too, got plenty of space in the garage. I'd even fall for an XB if the price were right- I've had a soft spot for the XB9 and would love to make one into a Uly low! I'm also going to start talking up Buell on the BMW forums even if I get thrown off for it again!
