i removed my stock timing dial from my cam cover to replace it with a crane single fire ignition. when i read the directions for the crane ignition it said mount new dial just as old one was mounted. but i dont know the exact location it was in. there is a point on the cover with red marker on it and the same with the old dial that matches up. but if i look at the wear marks on the old dial it looks like i may have been set in may different positions before. any suggestions for a possible stock position of the dial?????

thanks

It varies. Static time it so you can get it started then set the dynamic with a timing light as per the instructions.
