Why do you ALMOST never here of extreme force being used to arrest someone on the east coast? This is sick I hope the cop gets fired. 60 miles an hour to catch a running jerk? |

I heard that as additional punishment they put him in a holding cell and made him debate math with Blake! Looks like he fared pretty well for getting hit by a truck. Maybe he should'nt have run? |

You can hear them say in the video that the police vehicle applied it's brakes and 'slid' in the mud hitting the suspect. Ummmm.... doesn't look like too much slidin' going on to me, just a direct hit. But you're right the guy shouldn't have run |

"Don't mess with Texas." We pretty much say what we mean down here. You are free to not visit. "Why do you ALMOST never here of extreme force being used to arrest someone on the east coast?" Because you don't pay attention to the news? |

You've heard of the "hit and run"? Well that video is an example of what we call the run and hit. Pretty sure the cop didn't intend to actually run over the dude. Back to drivers school for you! |

Ive had a run in with OK and TX cops both times unjustified pull overs [ TX thoughts of drunkness, biker prejudice] [ OK cop bet! and attempt to impound my 57 panhead and truck, super troopers? rolleyes] OK is a nice place but TX is mostly wasteland. |

Because you don't pay attention to the news? No doubt, they are actually thinking of banning tasers because police decide to use them, OK a couple of people got hurt, one guy died (he was hopped up on crack, fighting police, and was WAY over weight), so I guess our Boys in Blue will just have to go back to guns. Back to the topic at hand, my advise, if the police tell you to "FREEZE" "STOP WHERE YOU ARE" or something similar, simply do as they say. |

TX is mostly wasteland Please feel free to stay away. A wise man once told me, "Anytime you knock a place, you're gonna have trouble with the folks who live there." rt |

"You can hear them say in the video that the police vehicle applied it's brakes and 'slid' in the mud hitting the suspect." If you look at the video you can see that the truck really did have the brakes on. You can see a solid line in the mud where the front wheels were not turning. But, If you run from the Police, well hell, you deserve all that and more. If you don't run you won't get run over, If you don't drink and drive you won't go to jail for drunk driving, If you don't.......well you get the picture. And no I am not a Cop. But as I firefighter I have been around more than once as an innocent victim has taken their last breath courtesy of some moron. Ride safe. Pablo |

We had a purse snatcher kill a good samaritan here in KC last year. I would say that any purse snatcher deserves to be hit with and/or dragged behind a truck. The shame in this video is that the guy was apparently not hurt badly enough. I think the cop should have taken another run at him. Yes, I am originally from Texas. |

Texas is mostly "wasteland"? BWAHAHAHAH! The folks who hold to that stereotype should keep right on believing that. Kilgore, Texas, one of the best small towns in the country! Not really. Don't you believe it! Stay up in Indiana. It's much nicer up there. God's country for sure. They ought to call it The "Garden of Indiana." Hey, my sister lives there. |

simply do as they say. You go right ahead and do as they say. "Men never do evil so completely and cheerfully as when they do it from a moral conviction." Blaise Pascal

TX is mostly wasteland. Which part? You mean down south by Padre Island or Galveston. Ben there, nice beaches. Out by Amarillo, pretty flat and wide open, but the sky goes on forever. I kind of like Dallas, not the hick cowboy town most people think, or Austin, some great music there. I'm not from there or live there, but like it. Like it much better than my trips to eastern cities. |

You go right ahead and do as they say. You mean to tell me if you're running (not necessarily from the police) and a police officer tells you to stop, freeze, or whatever, you'd keep on running? I'd stop, no matter what Blaise Pascal, or any other 400 year old philosopher said. |

Hey watch it! Jersey is the "Garden State". And we don't want to be associated with Indiana. Let them remain the "Crossroads of America" or some nonsense. On the other side, lived in Texas for a year. Great place, would love to get back. If you don't want to be shot, tazered or ran over by the police try holding still and saying "yes sir". |

NJ is "The Garden State"? Ohhhhh, now it makes sense. All this time I was thinking it was "The Gordon State." Had no idea who the Gordon dude was either. Rek, Not following a police officers instructions? Is it possible your advice stems from suffering a bad experience with an overzealous partner who was role playing as a police-woman? There was a Richard Pryor movie that had a scene kinda along those lines in it. Funny stuff. But not a good reason to disobey real police officers. Just kidding with you Rek. |

I normally don't side with the police on brutality issues (Robert Davis), but when you run from them you're certainly asking for it. |

Ok fine TX may have some cool places but the panhandle aint one of them , neither is their supertroopers.BTW my opinion of IN esp northern IN may as well be the same , wasteland! Only difference is we have trees and too many people cooking up METH so they can slave away in the factorys. Id rather live in AZ or NM again if only I had the money Id be back out there |

Hey Blake, this is one Hoosier that likes TX! Been there only a couple of times, but liked it. Would even live there if I could talk the old lady into it. Ever been to the Texas Ranger museum in Waco? As far as Law officers go, you have good and bad, just like every other profession.

ya know what i like about texas state law? in texas, one does not have a duty to retreat from a threat of bodily harm. defense of life and property is very clearly defined and legal in the state of texas. that, and the ladies say "Ya'll" |
