Ok Folks,

I have done this ride/event with a couple of different groups and it has always been a success (although the times we had rain did slow up some of the riding).
The Location - Lake George, NY www.lakegeorge.com
Time - Perhaps mid Sept
Arrival - Thursday day/eve - Depart Sunday
Areas to ride -
--Rt 100 through Vt (can anyone say Ben&Jerry's).

--Adirondack Region: Lake Placid, Saranac Lake, Whitface Mt, Lake Champlain, Ft. Ticonderoga, etc.
--Saratoga, south to Mohawk Valley.
100's of miles of great Motorcycle roads (1 reason why Americade is a success).

Also Lake George is a tourist area and the town has plenty of evening activity places. From walking around checking out shops, restaurants, nightclubs, etc.

Doing this for Buell riders, I can contact BRAG chapters, & post on BadWeb and ATC.

So there are plenty of roads/routes to take, here are my questions that I need feedback on.

1 - Does this sound like an idea to follow though?

2 - Would you like to stay within walking of town for the evenings?

3 - What range are you comfortable spending for a room a night ,,,,,$65-80 $80-95 don't care

4 - Would you want info on campsites as well?

5 - Does the Thurs-Sunday work? making Friday & Saturday as riding the area days.

6 - How much notice would you like if it is decided to this?

7 - Would you want a hotel/motel that has conferences rooms available to have a meeting place for us to hang out and maybe have a video/dvd & tv. - would you be willing to contribute and additional $5-10 for such a room and if there is $$ left over - snacks.

Prices for rooms go down after labor day, doing this during the summer would be a little costly for rooms, and in the spring the weather is very unpredictable and May has the infamous Black Flies -lots of theam and they bite.

Just an Idea - getting a head start now.

Gomo, there is some great riding in that area. I would definitely be in for something like that. I would probably need a months notice to make the arrangements.

There are plenty of cheap taxis to get into town, so walking distance is not necessary, but not a bad thing either.

The days sound good. Thurs - Sun is cool.

That sounds like it could be one hell of a great time.
I favor small mom 'n pop motels.
The conference room thing could be fun too.
My only issue is whenever I make long range plans, the weather ruins my life.

Mike and I got soaked on our mount Washington mission this year. It was still worth it but hey.

Will this theoretical ride go east enough for a ride up washington? That would be a good photo-op ; )
