Was talking to another Buell rider who has a Race pipe on his bike. Turns out he likes to go by other HD riders and rev his bike as they pass cops. Guess what happens next. Anyways, while it's wrong I have to find it hillarious. Was wondering how many others have done this. Figure it might make a good conversation, or laugh.

Yeah,

I need a good story.

Around here the fuzz don't bother much with the Harley Sounding crowd. Its the ricers with the whining pipes that gets their attention.

Speaking of which, I think I'll go ride the RD400.

Round here too Newfie. I get the thumbs up from the cops (my pipe is outrageous loud) and the ricers get burned.

Around my place, it depends on where you are.. In Alexandria VA, they have a 'noise' ord. in effect. The local PD can pull over ANY vehicle they feel is too loud. For bikes they have a little rod they slide into your pipe, if it goes in beyond a certain point, they write you for faulty equipment and disturbing the peace. No db meter needed.. The officer knows when it's too loud..

In Loudoun County, some of the SD bikes are louder then some of the 'custom choppers' so they won't bother you unless you're doing something.. silly.. Then they will have no problem 'dealing' with you..

Those are just two examples..

Around here, they don't bother unless you have straight pipes. The only place I saw with a sign was newport.
