Nothing more embarrassing then low siding a left turn into traffic.
The landscaper at my subdivision likes to water the entrance/exit right at the time everyone is leaving for work. The wet pavement, cold tires and a little too much throttle and down it goes.
More damage to pride than the bike.

I did that once, only I was showing out in front of a bunch of Harley guys.
I felt really really small.
Glad you're OK.

Leaving on Sunday morning to met up with the Hudson Valley Boys I took an uphill left turn on my XB12R, with cold tires, possible residual frost. I went into a dirt track slide and almost into a tank slapper. My buddy riding behind me has been riding about a week and was very impressed with my recovery. I played it off jokingly cool and then checked my shorts the first chance I got. I really thought I was going down. I gotta get some frame pucks.

Glad to hear you're okay. I did the same thing in front for the service entrance at the dealership after getting my first new rear tire installed (6 years ago). Talk about embarrassing

Happened to me twice. Hole shot + cold tires - 4 or 5 old school H-D riders = chuckles from everyone but me.

I did that last year on the S1 at the beginning of the season. I was lucky enough not to go down but the bike did go sideways up the street until I could get it straight.

I am glad I have many years of dirt riding under my belt.

I hate when that happens...

...but it happens anyway!

Glad there's no serious damage.

Luckily didn't need 'em this time, but will definitely be getting the frame pucks! Lost a mirror and shifter peg is all. Somehow scratched the air box cover right above the frame but never touched the frame.

Early this season, I dropped in front of everyone at Sheldon's.
It sucked but the toll was only a pair of brake controls and a new airfilter element.

I was running D208 rear and it dipped down below freezing while we were telling lies and drinking coffee.
Those things turn to WOOD when they're cold.
I'm running a D205 rear now and it stepped out on me yesterday in third on dry pavement!

Yup. Cold tires...Left turn with a bit much throttle. Been there. Glad you're OK. Crazy how it got your airbox cover.
