...additional pucker factor for the '1100' solution? Prelude to an H&K action sequence? |

H&K are really swell, until you take 'em into the bush, or anywhere near mud. nice cop weapon, lousy in the great outdoors, though. stick with valmet or CZ kalashnikovs, and FNs. I carried a kalashnikov for two years in mud and snow, never jammed once. |

Glock-22 is what I carry during work; Glock-27 is for the rest of the time. |

H&K G36, all three varieties are extraordinarily well suited for the boonies, mucho sand, and I've never seen a misfire excepting bad rounds. We got to 'play' with the beta ver of the 416 and that was one sweet puppy too. There's many varieties, and manufacturers of the Kalashnikov and the one commonality is their lack of tolerances. PeePee Poor engineering is their single greatest asset. G2 |

I agree with your assertions on the Kalashnikov and you've never heard/read where I said they are prone to jamming. They have such loose tolerances that they rarely, if ever, need to be cleaned. I disagree with your views on the H&K and do that based on my own experiences. G2 |

Chasespeed, Love them Glocks too! Used to love watching the Glock rep come to Hunter Army Airfield and dump out a big old stinky bucket of oil with a mixture of Glock parts inside the muck. He'd then assemble and immediately start firing away -- quite impressive indeed. Court, S&W 686 w/6 inch is probably the most impressive wheel gun made. Kaboodles of stopping power. I know a few pig hunters that prefer them when going after the oinkers with handguns. G2 |

I'm with Chasepeed on the venerable .45 ACP. But I'm baffled about the "Glock 4145", is that correct for a Glock model? For pigs, I'd like a 45 Long Colt for a close range (25-50 yards?) hand gun. That would be using a modern loading in a modern gun. In a carbine, a .45-70 would be good. When it comes to bullets, I'm a staunch believer in larger, heavier, although slower bullets over smaller, lighter, but faster ones. Terminal momentum is generally better with the higher sectional density bullets. Jack |

Glock. Almost idiot proof. I am a testament to that quality. I like a nice 9mm round. Agree with Tramp. There is something almost mystical about a 1911. |

Jack, Good taste indeed :-) The .45-70, I like the Pedersoli versions best w/Barnes ammo, is awesome. Someday (when all my kids finish college) I'll have me a M99 Big Shot by Barrett -- don't know what I'll really do with it, but I gotta have one :-) G2 |

"...But I'm baffled about the "Glock 4145"..." I can only assume he meant the Glock 21, chambered in .45APC. i.e., Glock2145 (model 21 in .45) maybe... wtf do I know?! (Message edited by seth on October 24, 2005) |
