Good Deal.
We'll be there by 9:30.

Tyson, We should leave 7-11 at 7:00.

Anyone else joining up along the Parkway?

I think we'll be shoving off nice and late, like 10:30 or 11:am, as the rain subsides completely

Cool- I just left Injunmort's garage, where several of us were enjoying the caucaphony of 80's tunes, antique machines being started, and mort's carpathian hellhound pulling wildly at her leash and rolling her eyees in sheer terror of the cloud of ether and raw gas in the air as mort stomped his kickstarters, cigarette dangling precariously form his sierra-nevada glistening lower lip...
WEATHER.COM NO LONGER FORECATS RAIN FOR TOMORROW!!!
mort, me and a local angel (who happens to own a kosco racing buell with the #1 plate still intact)snatched cochise at the aerodrome, and mort me and cochise stopped by mikexlr650's, who wasn't home and left us no pumpkins to smash.. johnnylunchbox and his lovely wife, along with AJ and his better half joined us for inane bench racing and repeated, albeit unheeded, pleas for mort not to spray any more ether into any more antique carbs...
looks like a nice run day is in store for us...
AJ, an MMI grad who specializes in arcane limey iron, threatens to bring some rat patrol of lime-jockeys, including one cat who runs a Greeves (!) set up with an a/c generated headlight....
I hear tell of a couple new england groups coming down in all their ethan allen splendour, and a couple jersey folk ("never underestimate the incredible drawing power of the garden state"; ) buelling their springsteenian keisters up...
photos and lies as events warrant
good night and take care
scenery's here,
wish you were beautiful

Well that's a new record for me. I lost the pack 30 seconds after I joined them! I got stuck behind a leaf peeping cager on the way down the mountain. Oh well... it was a nice ride up and a nice ride home. I hope you all had as much fun as I did.

Once again, Great Ride. Nice seeing & meeting everyone and Bravo's go out to El Tramparino for putting things together, Mike & Steve for leading the ride and for everyone to show up on a morning that looked less than favorable. Considering that I just found out that they woke up to a white covering on the cars and lawns in the Catkills this morning, we did alright.

Now suggestions for future rides:
Send cell #'s around to keep in contact the day of ride.
Do not let Hammer lead Jeff anywhere.
Do not let Jeff be the last in line.
Have someone remind me the difference between east & west.

**I'll post the photo's as soon as I get them back. I was working with a disposable digital camera for the day - we'll se how it worked out.

five miles from the circle where we split up a car going southbound loses it's left front wheel which of course crosses the median and try's to separate me and the buell. actually the wheel was probably at least a car length away, but you get the idea. still close enough to scare the crap out of me. amazing how fast things can happen. other than that it was a nice ride home.

is mort registered here yet? dude we've got to go dirt ridin.

Awesome ride! Love the mountains in the fall. Thanks for showing a few Jersey boys the "good route". We blasted home down the Parkway without incident, no stray wheels thank goodness.

Thumbs up to the first annual Headless Horseman Run!

It was a pleasure and an honor to ride with all of you. Sue and I had a great time and we hope to ride with you guys in the future. We even know some twistier roads, so if you're in the area send me a PM and we'll hook up. Thanks Trampikins and your lovely better half Holly. And of course let us not forget Cochise aka Joe from ATC who flew all the way from Arkansas to ride with us. We will do this again.

P.S. Jeff you were better off not making it, because I was planning to steal your S3T because it was rightfully ours. I was just a week to late, and you snatched it out from under me. We will settle this. I'll be back.

EDIT: I just read that and it sounded ominous. Jeff, I'm really kidding OK? I am really not going to steal your wonderful 2002 S3T with orange frame and PM wheels. The one that we were supposed to buy...uh oh I'm doing it again aren't I?

I was really touched ("show me on the doll where they touched you, tramp" ) by youze folks who braved the cold to show up...
SO cool meeting you all-
Luke, I'm sorry I didn't get to say 'take care' before you split off- it was a pleasure meeting you-
jay and silent bob- (captjim and buell12hundo)- youze boys are hardcore, blazing up here from the jersey shore in the weather we had early this morning. big ups.
godfather don gomo, suggestions absolutely acknowledged- (THANK YOU!!!) we'll actually print out a cellphone list before the next run, johnnylunchbox and ninjasue did some comprehensive organizational work for this, and when they showed up at injunmort's crib of antiquities, they were met by a handful of drunken revelers and little, if any, comprehension or even the meanest sense of organization...
next big run, we'll have printed maps (which johnnylunchmeat suggested- he and ninjasue even printed out directions....), more time on 218, and we'll make sure the run ends for everyone, as it did for 7 or 8 of us, at the summit of perkins again...the roads were nice and dry when we got back up there, after sleepy hollow, and the skies were glossy with lowing sun...
man- it was so cool to meet jack from the poconos, ray from the northern SF bay area,
al from dumont (the RTV worked!), doz and jester (jester came down from Massachusets!), etc. etc. etc.
and how about SAINTLY?!??! the man was at the front of the pack in the twisties on a rigid frankenharley!!!!! he "don't need no stinkin' shocks...."
hammer, as always, you are living proof that true marines never really retire.( I looked up "stand-up" in trampster's new american dictionary, and there was a shot of you)
Mikexlr650- you are one smoooooooooth and tchnical rider... a pleasure to follow, always, man. johhnylunchmeat and ninjasue... you guys went way above and beyond, putting cochise up in your warm home, and lending him your S3T... that arkansas boy can RIDE!
Holly asked me to say "thank you" and she had a good time, and she hopes to do next year's run on a Blast...
Youze all made the run, I look forward to next year's headless horseman run, and the hudson valley crew will be hitting 218 and perkins for many weekends to come, this autumn....
hey- i said the run was gonna just be a disorganized, discrete twistathon- next year, we'll be very, very organized and there WILL be hot coffee and a tent set up on perkins!

smooth and technical, thanks tramp. i've felt very stiff my last couple of rides. background fears of problems with the bike i guess. i keep picturing her melting down at the apex of a beautiful corner and sending me into the weeds. just like any other sport if you get stiff it all goes out the window. hoping she'll have a total melt down so she can really get fixed.
gonna ask about carbon on top of the pistons when i drop it off later.

that was a good time, but it always is (at least all the gatherings that I've been to) saintly the rat bike was bad a$$ but I would say that the best part of the trip is when the saddle bag opened to reveal ........the back up red plastic tank, didn't expect that.

With Hammmer at the helm, the view may be in a little blurry. It's ok - just slow the video down to an equivilant of 100mph and you may see something. Yahoo Rich -Run'em
