Silly. Of course I took my bike in today. That D205 I have in the rear does not grip at all in cold+wet. Spins at will in third gear. I did a flat tracker style turn in third on the way in but of course no one sees the cool things. If you pull a stupid, you will be surrounded by an audience of hundreds. | ||

In the mid-Atlantic today: low 40's @ 5am when I left the house high ~ 60 for the commute home. For some reason my commute home always seems to be 20-30 miles longer than the ride in :-) I'm old and may have to get the heated stuff out for mornings though. Cheers | ||

The most extreme example of this was Washington DC. The pictures didn't come out of my bike in front of various national monuments in the middle of the night. I guess I'll have to do it again over the weekend some time. | ||

20 degrees this morning, hitched a ride to work with wife. her jeep has a decent heater. and studded tires. around midafternoon is a good time to get the bike out, mostly clear pavement at low elevations. | ||

38 by the bank clock this morning on the way in. I've stumbled onto a great riding combo for cool weather! One of the FastCompany jackets from American Sport Bike with the liner installed, and a pair of FirstGear HT textile over pants with liner. A pair of Olympia mid gloves and you're set! Brad | ||

Didn't ride this morning. After needing ~ 5 minutes to get my fingers working right after getting to work yesterday, I tried to get my old tank bag (off Triumph Sprint ST) to work on the XB12X. It's a bit big and blocks the air intake grill. I have a strip of velcro on the thermostat and the side of said bag. Works great with the heated clothes (keeps the wires out of way) and it's cold so the heat stays on. Humm guess I'll be checking out small universal tank bags or get the one from Buell. Cheers |
