Hey Terry! Of course I know you! Beth and I rode an M2 and a S1W respectively. I was Co-directer of the club along with Marty. He and I will probably be at the Crud run Sunday but unfortunately we're both Buelless at the moment. We both have FLHT's as our street bikes.(HH isn't quite as fun on a bagger!) We'll look for you Sunday. JimH |

Hey Jim, Thought that was you. I made a great attempt at trying some of the old route today ..... BUT ........ about 5 miles out of Middleton on 14 my S3T started vibrating/shaking REAl BAD ...... The freaking front motor mount bolt sheared off and then the front motor mount itself broke right in half .... That really sucked ...... Sauk HD came and got me and they actually had a mount in stock ...... Soooooooooo .... only $386.61 and I was back on the road (4 hours later). I still plan on making the Crud ..... if I can afford gas ... LOL |

Yep, you'll get that with the old tubers. My S1W tore the bolt AND the mounting boss right out of the head. Needed a new head on that one. |

Oh yeah, I wish Erik and his checkbook were with me yesterday! I forgot to mention, I did get a few minutes to run down 78 to Mt. Horeb and zoom around county JG. BUT ! the zoomin wasn't to zoomy ..... they (at some point) put the tar and pea gravel cover on the road. Maybe last summer sometime, but there was just enough loose pea gravel on the road to cause this chicken Bueller to take it kinda easy. So, I can't recommend JG for inclusion in the Crud plans. |

Pea gravel gives you the chance to work on your dirt track skills! It's been awhile since I've been on JG, sorry about that. I was on HH,H,and T Tuesday so I know their good to go. You might want to check out Upper Wyoming,Percussion Rock, and Sneed roads all around the House on the Rock. Hwy 130 from hwy23 to Percussion Rock Rd to. Some of the best WI has to offer! |

Well four of us from Waterloo (one actually from Dubuque) made it up for the ride. What a beautiful day! I had to stop on the way home and take the liner out of my jacket that I'd put in a few days ago when it was 34. Ralph & Mike had to turn back due to other committments and our vaunted leader, Craig, was a no-show. Shame on you. I cut out a little early to make it home for a date with my wife and then she was late. We followed a car that the driver was obviously drunk for awhile. I wanted to do something but I knew we were helpless. I was waiting for the wreck but then we turned off and left him to terrorize the town |

I'll have a few pics to post in the next few days, saw some really cool bikes and, by far, the most Ducatis in one place I've ever seen. Thanks for meeting up with me this morning, it was a great day to ride, the weather couldn't have been better (for October). |

Alex, Please forgive my absence!! I would have rather been there but I had to get my grades done, due tomorrow. I should have gotten them done earlier but the days seem to go by to fast. I was also concerned about the weather which obviously wasn't an issue!!!! Mike B has two major tests Monday and Tuesday at UNI so we rode to Independence with the guys to pick up Jon Davis then went up the road a little bit so we could ride the twisty road that goes by the Frank Lloyd Wright house, Cedar Rock. The Triumph guys have their leaf ride next weekend so I'll try to make that one. Sounds like you guys had a great ride!! |

Ralph, I'll think forgiving you. I was the only Buell, surrounded by a Beemer, 'Zook and a Honda... Grades are grades, ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Exams are important too, glad I never really had to take any of that EE crap when I was in school... It was a great ride, great friends and awesome weather. I still can't believe it's October and the weather is like this! I'm used to being in Michigan by now and having rain/snow everyday! |

The *ONLY* Buell you say? We had a group of 8 Buells(3 S3s, 1 Blast, and 4 XBs), 3 harleys, and 1 Kawi in our group. Wonderful weather, besides the way home. We got poured on a little outside of Sun Praire. It only lasted about 10 minutes. The wind kinda sucked too. |

hech, I musta seen 25-30 buells, and don't think I saw any of the Brewers -- most buells I've ever seen at the Crud -- of most interest to me is that I saw a buncha of em riding with other makes -- in the past, most of the buells in evidence showed up with other buells, like they were runnin together for protection from the bad old bullies in the school yard (a rotten simile, I know, but htere ya go, it's early) this year, seems that buells were just another one of the makes that showed up with all the other bikes -- great news for the manufacturer, I'm thinkin -- gettin mainstreamed, and being less of a niche scoot can't be anything but good news for the factory ;-} |

I looked for you Bomber. Didn't see you, or your bike at either Pine Bluff, or Leland. We got to Pine Bluff around 10:45. You'd know if'n ya saw us. 1/2 of the group was women on Buells. |

O, I recognize that group, Steve -- ;-} we got to pine bluff pretty early (mebbe 50 bikes there when we pulled in, how come the bar across the street closed it's lot?), and likely pulled out as you arrived -- got the leland about 1-ish taking a nice route based on Jimmy2's suggstion (thanks a million, sir!) -- |

Only did the first half of the Crud Run. We had to leave Pine Bluff early cuz the guy I was with had to get to the hosp. to see his mom. We took most of the roads Jimmy2 suggested on the southern section ...... SWEET ! ..... I almost ate the big one on one tight right hander (on HH I think). Entered the turn a little to fast and cuz of the pea gravel, I was ascared to lean in more or brake so I ran off in the grassy shoulder for about 20yards ....(like I used to do on my XL500).. So thankful there weren't any trees ...... WHEW !!! I loved the bike show ..... most non-Harleys I've seen in one place all summer I saw a number of sweet Buells. I actually had a couple of older guys looking at my S3T and one said; "I never seen one like that" (I can only wonder what he was riding). I'm already looking forward to the spring run. |
