You raced a bike for two years without even adjusting or lubing the chain? Wow, that is impressive. |

reliability - Honda. See ease of maintenance. I didn't think that even the biggest Buell proponent would say a Buell is more reliable than a Honda. I don't think even Court would back you up on that one. I believe J.D. Powers said something to that effect. |

Spike, Chain was "adjusted" every time the tire was changed. No biggie. BTW, I never said I raced it for tow years, just that it had been raced for two years before I raced it in an endurance race this year. Vik |

That's understandable. I certainly wouldn't say the Honda is an unreliable bike, I was just pointing out that we all occasionally exaggerate a bit. |

Vik, Conngratulations for holding up your singular example and for comparing the efforts of HRC to that of a few privateer Buell racers. You are really reaching. Alan, You are simply delusional. Bike magazine and Performance Bikes and Motorcycle Online have all indicated that the Buell XB platform flat our out-corners the best repliracers on the market. A months old virtually fresh off the showroom floor XB9R wins the FUSA Sportbike race at Loudon, a highly technical tight turning track, but you think it is laughable that a Buell XB is a superior cornering machine than the current crop of 600cc repliracers? What flavor of Japanese Kool-Aid are you injecting interveniously? |

My turn to pick on your semantics, Blake. I stated "The 600RR is a great handling machine. Won every single FX race this year, too." What in that statement is comparing HRC to Buell "privateers?" Who's reaching? Vik |

You are Vik. The Honda FX effort was a full on factory effort whereas the Buell racers were as privateer as can be. You are reaching trying to compare the two or hold up the HRC effort as evidence of the RR's superior handling. Put a couple million and Miguel on a Buell and Buell wins the FX championship. It's that simple. |

Listen up, youngsters--it's all downhill from 40! Why, I can remember when all motorcycles had kick starters, carburetors, drum brakes and points in the ignition. When they broke down, you had to push them home barefoot, in the snow, uphill all the way! rt |

Just wait for the big 50 makes all the rest look like kids stuff. Why I remember rotery dile telephones. When a color TV was a piece of plastik you put over the schreen that was blue on the top and green on the bottom and sort of a pinkish in the middle. When Howdy Dudey, Buffalo Bob and Clarabell were on just before the lone ranger who was on just before Sky king on saturday mornings. Cars did not come with seat belts. I remember gas wars where the advertised price kept going down and sometimes it was less than .13 a gal. when a tune up ment points, plugs and an air cleaner and the timeing light to adjust or maybe just a piece of cellophane folded in half. Back when a car that went 80,000 mi was considered extreamly high milage.

Blake, report back once you've tried the XB and the current crop of 600's on the track. I'll wait. P.S. be sure to throw in a 1956 BSA Gold Start so you can see what handling is REALLY all about (according to one of yer mags). Again, never said the Xb isnt any good. Its great. But there are better. |

Are my posts being deleted or something? I don't have a huge problem with it if they are... but I didn't think I said anything inflamatory. Anyway... Maybe I just didn't hit post? The BSA Gold star that out corners the XB12S... You still don't have it "quite" right Choptop. There's no way you can get into, around and out of a corner as quickly on a BSA gold star as you can on an "S". We both know that. I think you're missing the un-spoken portion of the article. That being the part about how the bike was when it hit the showroom floor compared to it's peers. Take a look at the "remove the emotion" portion of the article. Buell has TWO (or should I say BOTH) of their platforms in the top 15. The portion of the article that really ought to pertain to our discussion os the "remove the emotion" portion. |

Well gee, Chopper, at least I'm not hiding behind a false name or identity. When you called me you didn't even introduce yourself with your real name. Now that's bravery for you! Not that I didn't find it out anyway. You said you only wanted people to take responsibility. Well, I have. You have convincingly proved you know who I am and how to find me. If this were a conversation in a bar, I'd say EXACTLY the same thing. And looking back on the total conversation over both sets of posts on this subject, if all of us here were together in a bar discussing this over a few brews, I suspect you would be in far greater danger of being punched out for your opinions and your attitudes than I would. As for the local cops, we have a relationship, several of the dispatchers and an officer's wife cashier for me. The conversation went nothing like that. They understand that there are some serious nutcases on line, and until I researched you thoroughly I had to work with the possibility that you were one. But now I know that you are merely a big noise, given to intimidating gestures, so I'm giving you all the respect you deserve. |

Never had hidden behind any sort of name. My name address and phone number are here on this site. So I would be punched out for saying I think that the Buell shouldnt be rated #1, that perhaps anohter bike should be, and that should lead one to say that they are going to urinate on my grave? you are one seriously screwed up individual. whats next slit throats for saying Bud Light is better than Coors? WTF? So how did the conversation go? I'm REAL interested. So,I told this guy I was going to on his grave for saying he prefers one bike over another and then he called me to find out why I would say something like that.... and what did they say? Finding you wasnt hard, you name is posted on this site, and you've posted your phone number on the net with the invitation to call you. what you seem to forget it that the Net is NO different from other forms of communication. You've even said that you were going to spend more time in the "real world" and less on the Net, showing you have a basic missunderstanding of the nature of the Net. It is the real world. Things said here are NO different than thing said over the phone, in print or face to face. To call the cops cuz I telephoned you and asked you to explain yerself also shows that lack of understanding. So what did they say? Just paraphrase... I threatened to on his grave, he called me to find out why.... and then what? (Message edited by Choptop on September 30, 2005) |
