What's your favorite?

Mine is 'On Any Sunday', by Bruce Brown (the Endless Summer guy), made in 1971.

Are there other good ones (hopefully newer)?

NOTE: If you say 'Biker Boyz' or 'Torque' you will be banned from BadWeb!

Actually, my selection of 'On Any Sunday' is a documentary and not a movie.

I guess the audience is too limited to make any decent money, but a REAL movie about road racing would be GREAT! Even a good documentary would be welcome.

Mad Max and The Road Warrior. Seems more like a training film though.

Yep, I'll second the nominations of "Easy Rider" and "Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man".

I hear the new one "Faster" is supposed to be really good too.

A couple of months ago someone mentioned a British movie, an older flick in black and white about cafe racers in London. Does that ring a bell for any one.

"but a REAL movie about road racing would be GREAT! Even a good documentary would be welcome. "

I didn't fully read your comment... if you haven't seen FASTER then go run out and buy it. It's a SICK documentary. Double disc now.

The Road Warrior

The stunts in this movie (m/c, car, truck) are spectacular! I remember at the time seeing a 'making of' and the stunt folks saying how scared they were at times and that those stunts would never be surpassed.

Electra Glide in Blue was scenic and sick, Great Arizonan panarama. Weak plot, weak acting. But scenic.

Wow...the Mad Max movie is the only one out of all of them listed so far (with the exception of Biker Boys) that I've seen. Most of them I hadn't heard of either.

Guess I'm too young...

I agree with Nevar. "On Any Sunday" is a great motorcycle movie. I saw it when it first came out and again a few months ago. The movie wears well, still a great motorcycle movie. Not like "Easy Rider". Watch it today and you wonder how could anyone have ever taken it seriously.

On Any Sunday is the first one to come to mind, but Faster is right up there with it. A while back I had the chance to see a showing of Faster in a little old theatre while I was on vacation in Savannah, GA. I own the DVD, but seeing it on the big screen was just awesome. I was on the edge of my seat through most of it.

I have to admit, I didn't mind watching Biker Boyz. The plot is about as thick as that of the average porn flick (or so I've heard) and the acting is flat out humorous, but the whole movie is filled with scenes where people actually ride motorcycles. If you deleted all the scenes with actors you'd have a pretty good stunt video.

Biker Boyz sucked But Tourqe had the best line ever that I still use...

"What is about driving cars that makes you such @s$ holes?"

And in the beginging sequence when the street signs are spinning they say "Cages Suck"

Yeah, I feel the same way. And I'm a little ashamed to say that I took it VERY seriously back then.. Can you see my red face?

I've had people try to kill me on my bike. I don't mean accidently either. I mean trying to squash me in between their big red Dodge and a guard rail. Three times in the same day. A few weeks later he tried to take my head off with his mirror while I was parked at a light waiting for my left turn light to go green and he was taking a left from my right. I didn't even realize he was the same guy until 1/2 of a second before he would have hit me. I moved my head to the right just as his extended mirror would have bashed me. I looked right in his eyes just before and he was staring at me. He meant it every time. I'll find his house one of these days.

Hey Don, maybe you should carry your M1 with you while riding.

I sure hope those dickheads stay up there. We have enough problems down here with the cages that accidentally try to kill you...

I remember seeing a short documentary movie as a support at a theater in England in 1979 / 1980 which followed Kenny Robert's season that year.

Does anybody else remember that.

All I really remember is the sex kitten I went to the movie with !

Harley Davidson and the Marlboro man is freakin' awesome!! The opening sequence still gives me chill bumps (must be heard through surround sound with a good subwoofer for full effect).
It is chocked full of great one liners and memorable character names. Not the greatest plot line but a fun way to pass a couple hours.
Examples of funny lines used throughout,
"My daddy used to say before he left this sh ty world".
"If money talks and bullsh t walks then we walkin'".
"If you were shootin' for sh t you wouldn't even get a whiff Harley".
"Your gonna die up here, Well your gonna to get smashed down there."
"I'm good to go as soon as I have 5 big bills and your woman in my bed."
The list goes on but I'm tired of typing LOL!
One last thing. The highly modified FXR is an absolute jewel in itself.
