Hey someone answer me this...Why would you do that to a Buell?? I mean all he has left is the engine, tranny, and the front forks. You could get those from just about anywhere without hacking up somthing great. I just don't get it...Why not find a wrecked sportster or SOMETHING...I guess maybe it was what he had and didn't want to invest...but GEEEEZZZZZ!!!!!! |

My experiences with Auburn H-D service have been mostly good. I had all service done by them on my bike until around 15,000 miles. They screwed up once and went out of their way to make things right, so I would recommend them. Vik |

Two things here: 1. He states it is a Signature Series, so I wonder if he has the Signature Series documentation and other stuff to go with it. 2. Devil's advocate here: consider that he has bids currently up to $8,000. I wonder how much he has into the conversion/chopperizing of the bike. Considering that most Buell owners are currently hard pressed to get more than $3,500-$4,500 for a complete and original Buell 'tuber in good condition, if someone is intent on selling their Buell there is a whole lot of room between $4,000 and $8,000 to play with to find a buyer and maybe net a little more than the stock bike would have brought. Pisz and moan all you want, but that's how it is. I'm sticking to my asking price(s) on my bike(s), and as such I'll probably have them for a long time to come (barring any trade-in action). If folks don't like the chopperizing of Buells then stick to your prices and buy up the cheap ones for salvation. No need to do no dragging and shooting in the streets, a bike is a bike for an owner to do with as they please. It is kind of funny that I don't hear this type of talk about drag bikes built from Buells, maybe it's the "racing" kinship versus the chopper/"biker" lifestyle. Don't know, don't care really, just want to really know if the chopper dude still has the Signature Series stuff since my S2 didn't come with any of it. Oh well, carry on, and have a nice day. ('think I'll go shopping for a solid tin lizzie to turn into a hot rod one day ) |

Hey, they can chop away all they want, it's their bike. Personally, I think it looks hideous. Not sure why I'd chop a 95 S2 for it's engine, as it is just a sporty engine anyway. The way I look at it, the more 95 S2s they chop up, the more valuable mine will eventually become. Al |

"..it looks hideous." Amen to that! Looks like a aftermarket or homemade frame, most of the S2 parts were not used so if that was a wreck there may be some good leftovers. Was that tank kicked up about 4" just to clear the fuel petcock? Or is that for a chin rest? It could not possibly be comfortable to ride. Then when you try to maneuver around in a parking lot crowded with bikes... You can spot the posers real quick when they start trying to get their rigs on the road. If you've ever ran out of room or or lost the balance on street bike in slow speed maneuvering, try one of those. And you have to look way cool while you do it... Jack |

Just read the eBay ad: This bike is a real head turner, I get comments every day I ride on how bad it is." As Court would say, "that is an accurate statement!" rt |

The dopes don't realize that the S-2 was only a Sportster motor unlike the later motors that advertised up to 101 HP.The S-2 had,what,60 maybe? All S-2's were signature series, just that the signature series stuff only went to original owner.Wonder where all the leftover stuff wound up?? And how much money did he tie up in the kit and misc parts and then the labor?I he gonna make any money? |

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Harley-Davidson-Sportster-Buell-Chopper-Custom_W0 QQitemZ4574115521QQcategoryZ49995QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem It will never end. Problem being, Buell fans represent a superior intelligence, like Mensa membership, but are outnumbered by those attracted to a more mainstream style. Another problem being Buell produced a better bike, but it has the re-sale value down with the Japanese bikes. George Brough produced about 2800 hand-crafted Brough-Superior motorbikes, all with engines from suppliers like J.A.P. and Matchless. Every chopper with an S2 donor creates a potential upside in value for the original remainders of the species. If there were only 2 S2s left, and you owned both, you would be financially ahead by destroying one and having the only one left to sell. Like it or not, it's the invisible hand of the market. |

I'M ALL ABOUT BUELL CHOPPERS IF THEY ARE DONE RIGHT. IE: THE REDNECK ENGINEERING KIT. THE REASON THEY USE A COMPLETE BUELL, VS BUYING ENGINE AND FORKS AND ALL THAT IS BECAUSE IT MAKES IT ALOT EASIER TO TITLE. BUT THAT BLACK BIKE IS TOTALLY UGLY. THE FRAME BEND AT THE TOP IS JUST PLANE STUPID. |

"If there were only 2 S2s left, and you owned both, you would be financially ahead by destroying one and having the only one left to sell. Like it or not, it's the invisible hand of the market." There's a Matador down the street from me that's for sale. Probably get you a real good price on it. Not too many Matadors still running around these days. Gotta be worth a small fortune. If the collectors aren't buying the stuff then it doesn't matter if there is one left or 10,000 left. All the other buyers are either enthusiasts or riders. Enthusiasts enjoy lower prices so they can get more to be enthusiastic with. Riders like a lower price because it gets them transportation cheaper. Collectors prefer a lower price, but will pay a higher price if they think they can convince other collectors that an item in their collection is worth collecting at a higher price.

I like the hand made belt guard in the shape of the Buell horse logo on the second bike. At least the second bike is more tasteful. The first one sucks. What's with the center bar so high and the tank way up in the air. The empty space between the engine and tank looks really bad. |
