Freeway? A little better than 50 mpg running around 80 mph. Around 40 mpg around town. Expect the Fuel light to come on somewhere between 160-180 miles and then get gas soon.

We had a discussion about that last night at our Brag meeting. 3 of us own S3s. I regularly get 43-46MPG city, and about 48-52MPG HWY out of my '98 S3T with the "race kit" installed, and a #48 slow jet.

Another member has an '02 S3T that gets 46MPG HWY. Seems he may be a bit ham fisted : )

And the other member regularly gets 55MPG out of his '01 S3 with 26K mi on it.
