Hey friends - wanted to float this idea out there. I have a totaled S3T (unfortunately), with the damage being to the front fork and front of the bike. I loved the bike and have been trying to find a replacement since. That mentioned, I found an S3 that I'm really intrigued by- the only thing being that it isn't a "T" model, and the big part of what I loved about the bike was having the hardbags. Has anyone converted an S3 to an S3T? Is it worth the hassle? Worth holding out for a "T" version? Thanks ya'll.

Sorry I don't know the answer to that question, but if the steering neck is ok, you can even upgrade to the XB suspension/brakes/wheels if you want?

I dunno, I more of a "save them" kinda guy: )

ZERO official factory knowledge regarding the differences, but I don't believe the internals are different from 99-02 on any of the S3s, "T" or otherwise.
The only difference I noted was the decal, lower fairings, and the saddle bag brackets. All of which except the decal, bolt right on/off. I took the leg fairings off my T when I got it, as I wanted that pretty motor to show. Having hard bags to carry stuff in is a nice feature, so I kept them on.

IMO: I would buy the bike if the price is right and add the bits as you find them. Late S3 bags are getting $$carce, for a while to preserve mine I used aftermarket soft bags,(really big ones), I eventually realized the OEM bags weren't perfect either, and rather than try to preserve good/fair condition bags, I should just enjoy the bike for what it is.
