Hi all - I'm trying to resurrect my XTT that, for various reasons, has sat outside under a cover for the past 3.5 years. I want to clean/replace everything in the fuel system, and I remember seeing a great instructional post somewhere online that explained how to remove the injectors. Can't seem to find it. I do have a manual, but I remember what I saw making it much easier. Anyone know what I'm talking about or where to find it? Thanks.

You might try posting in the XB threads, there's a lot more traffic there.

Thanks. I was trying to adhere to the old rule about posting this kind of thing in the knowledge vault, but I completely agree with you.

If you want to remove injectors you have to find info about how to remove throttle body. And it is possible to remove and attach back throttle body without engine rotation but very tricky. The most difficult part is to reach the bolt in the throttle body to engine brace interface and the bolts in the throttle body to cylinder heads interfaces. Also be prepare to struggle with the throttle body seals, they may not seal from first try, they actually may not seal at all no matter what and thank for this crappy seal interface design.

Another tricky thing is how to remove and attach back the rubber velocity stack. Make sure the rubber stack is hot when you remove it or attach it back - it makes this process significantly easier. I remove the stack when angine is hot and I use heat gut to warm up the stack before attaching it to the throttle body.

Basically follow service manual except engine rotation. You may need a few different wrenches and tools with the same size to reach some fasteners without rotating the engine and combine them turning fastener little by little. If you have just a one set of tools you may not be lucky enough and they may not do the work alone. You have to be really creative about how to reach some fasteners without engine rotation.

Thanks a lot. Very helpful. Looking forward to getting this bike back on the road. I bought it for about half-price right after Buell got dumped and they were trying to unload bikes, and this one I guess had sat in the dealership for a couple of years. It's never ran right. Seemed like it was "missing" sometimes, and if you crack the throttle too hard it would almost stall. I always felt like the injectors were gummed up or something. Maybe I'm wrong. But I'm going to go through and clean/replace the fuel system and I hope that helps. Also going to get the Buelltooth and see what that says/does.
