After a number of false starts I actually rode up and down my block a number of times without stalling.

A lot to learn, still, but what a thrill!

A neighbour, a former HD owner, came over and congratulated me and said it was long overdue.

Then he said I should see about getting replacement parts, namely a belt for my bike and change my mirrors.

So here I am, based in Toronto, ON and wondering how I can find replacement parts for my Buell. (HD Canada were not receptive)

Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

First, and most important, see if there is a Bike Safe training program, or equivalent, in your area. Pretty much a must have.

Check with Lance at St Paul H-D in St Paul, Minn for your parts needs.

As an aside, if you have mirrors and they work, and the belt is not showing signs of distress, does it need replacing? Give it a close visual check, and if it is not frayed, or missing teeth or parts of teeth, it is probably good for many miles.

Hope this helps, Dave

Welcome to the club! Any time a marque is canceled the owners of it's products are on their own! Many of the dealers have sold their Buell inventories. Try Ebay for any parts you need. That's about the best you can do. Good luck!

Any Harley dealer should be able to get you whatever parts you want, if you make their lives easier and give them the part number I don't see any reason they wouldn't want to take your money. Odds are you are going to have them order it, most dealers don't even stock consumables like oil filters anymore.

Online is always an option, St Paul mentioned above is a dealer that stocks just about anything you can possibly want, and has no problem special ordering anything else, but I don't know if they ship across the border. You can check ebay too, but be careful of pricing, I see companies selling parts off wrecked bikes for more than they cost new retail. Worst case, ask around on here and someone is bound to know someone or someplace with what you need.

Post some pictures of your bike, we can give a second opinion on the belt and mirrors. Having a spare belt is a good idea, that way if you need it, you don't need to worry about the hassle of obtaining one. Your belt is probably fine as is.
