'99 X-1, 4000 miles. installed race air filter, supertrapp internal disc pipe. seemed to be running fine until I pushed it hard; 95mph+. Engine light came on and stayed on. Pulled plugs, burning perfectly. Starts but idle sounds off. I have to hold throttle for a bit until it war4ms up or it will shut down.Vibrating.Could this be ECM issue? Ran perfectly before mods. Thanks Bros.

First, check for engine codes. If you get a series of codes, for lots of different problems, the most likely culprit is the 02 sensor going off script. They can go bad without throwing an 02 fault code. Bosch 12014 sensor from the auto parts store works.

If one or two separate codes, work on those.

Hope this helps, Dave

First, sincere apologies to Thunderlust and the BadWeB. Every place my previous post says 02 sensor, it should read Engine Temp Sensor.

My bad. And I did not misspeak, I was wrong. I woke up in the middle of the night going "Yikes, that's wrong".

I had the engine light/cascade of fault codes on my 01 X-1. Many thanks to Al at American Sport Bike for his help on that one.

Again, Sorry! Dave

Thank you. I deeply appreciate your reply.

Did you find the codes? What were they? Need help to retrieve them?

Dave
