Hey guys and gals I've dropped the fluids from the primary case 4X in 60days, 1X repair 3x to remove the cover. The most recent of the above was to r\r spring plate by adding two Barnetts steels + a Alto Red Friction Plate. Due Preventive maintenance. There is a noticeable feel of the clutch mainly shifts above the powerband are crispier. This bike, geared for open highway(29\61) (3:seventy3)IMO stock '99 Buell S3's knocked the tire off 24\7, geared kinda short (4:11). The SP was still in tact but semi collapsed. We nursed the single groove(clutch basket) most likely by the SP IDK the groove took a couple days of work via the filing method.
The third time we repaired a leaky primary drain plug. Tapped and chased 1 OS.
The second time we clearanced any and all known points, where primary chains are suspect to touch, ex.shoe+sprockets, trimmed the stator wire shroud. Fluid inspection=no glitter no metal tho slightly darker. Rechecked sprocket alignment.
First of the four, we swapped the engine sprocket(35t to 38t) & chain(+2 links). The straight cut gear sound at idle throughout all gears, clutch in\out, clutch disengaged\engaged, note: during deceleration including engine brake the sound in question cam be described as the Jetsons Space ship sound. WTF is it? Let me tell all yall's if I knew, It would not be posted like this on "BadWeB"

It's kind of hard to follow your narrative, but it sounds like you changed a bunch of stuff. And I doubt many of us have experience with a supercharged S3.

I can't speculate on the effects of your modifications. But I can offer one additional "jetsons noise" possible source...

If the bearings inside the 5th gear drive assembly have disintegrated, it can make those kinds of noises. The 5th drive gear assembly is the thing that sticks out the right side and that the front belt sprocket is attached too. There are needle bearings inside it, and a transmission shaft rides in there.

Hey yall's...my bad on the subject description "Supercharged S3" but seriously the "straight cut" gear sound and\or de·cel·er·a·tion Jetsons space ship noise was not present prior to the engine sprocket swap.
Reepicheep good looking out. We will drain the primary to examine\replace the needle bearing(s). Just debating on taking shortcuts mentioned in other post that might save time and money. Pressing the 5th gear assembly out\in of another bearing(8996A)adds upto more parts & Tools. IDGAF the noise has to go. Part#35051-89 aka needle bearing HK2520 by Timken. I'll be back. SMH

Ok,after talking to a Harley Davidson Motors Specialist@local HD Dealer facilty, D.S. basically said that the covers need to be removed for him to figure what exactly had been going on(straight cut gear sounds-Jetsons Space Ship decel sound) SMMFH.A work order may be filed for any "Press Work". So I ordered up parts that the Dealer did not have in stock, via internet. A Federal Mogul(NTN stamped) 6209c3, HK2520(NTN) X2 needle bearing and four(4) split bearings by Torrington note: the local dealer cost on seal + O ring beat the internet cost pennies on the dollar and physically stocked, oil seal 12067A\B quad seal 11165. L0L the parts person said "so these are the culprits?" go figure my answer nope. Glad the S3 has a Trap Door. Guess i'll stash the NTN's in the freezer. No wrench n, my tools got ripped off.
