2000 X-1.
studs would not come out. three finally replaced by drilling etc, but lost the forth stud I had bought from somewhere. Can't remember where. It was a hardened carb stud that was recommended to me years ago.
So what studs are recommended?

Additionally, what nuts are recommended?

The nuts that came with the carb studs I had have no locking system. Just a regular flat bottoms. Almost feel I have to double nut each stud for protection and/or torque each time before I go out. Yes I know about the first few rides, but I was going for a short 100 mile ride after 20k miles and one just came loose and a stud broke. Leave me worried about trusting any nut.

Where to get hardened studs and what part number?
What nuts to run?

well, I found my last stud so now it is a question of just finding the BEST nuts - ones that will not back off. That is if I don't break another stud.

Can anybody help here?
