2002 cyclone cuts out completely on hard acceleration
Last ridden in heavy rain,
Sparks are restored with a flick of the kill switch.
I have stripped and cleaned the kill switch and the fuse box and fuses but it is still the same
Any ideas?

There is a cable that goes into the coil (not just the spark plug wires coming out of the coil). It can come loose, and did on mine twice in 30k miles... once time after going through a ***very*** hard rain.

Sorry I can't describe it with more precision, I sold the M2 many years ago. Sniff.

Clearly, I need another M2. : )

As a follow up to Bluzm2, I rode my m2 after a heavy rain fall and my speedometer was acting funky on my ride home. cruising at 40mph and it would quickly drop to 25mph, even when I know I was not going that slow.

In response, I'm saying M2's definitely act weird when wet.
