My 01'Blast just had the carburetor cleaned and the fuel enhancer or electric choke replaced due to the fact that when throttled it would die.....i payed to have this problem fixed and unfortunately this did not solve the issue......it still dies when throttled or backfires and sputters when given just a lil gas......anyone know what the problem is and is it something I can fix on my own .......PLEASE HELP |

First, go to the Thumper section and let the good folks there know you have posted here about a problem. They really know this bike.
Second, take whatever 'stuff' you need to remove off the bike so you can cover the open end of the carb w/your hand. With the engine running, place your hand (fingers)over the carb mouth, blocking the carb but not totally shutting off airflow. Try twisting the throttle. If the engine revs up, the carb is really lean off idle, meaning something in the low speed circuit is blocked.
Did the bike sit for a while?

What I should have listed as first would be to get the factory service manual. Best tool in the tool box. Get with Al at American Sport Bike.
Since the bike sat for a while, that makes the 'clogged low speed circuit' much more possible. A complete and detailed carb cleaning would be advised.
All of this presumes (yeah, I know what that means) that the intake manifold - the infamous Das Boot - is not cracked and leaking.
Again, check with the Thumper forum, if you haven't already.
