97 S3 runs okay until I try to get the last little roll on out of the throttle. It will sputter until I roll it down a bit. If I roll the throttle real slow no problems.

I have taken the carb apart, cleaned the jets, checked the fuel hose, and have also taken the fuel vent off at speed, and cracked open fuel cap at speed all to no avail.

It sounds like in a hard roll on it's getting too much or too little fuel. Float valve? Any ideas?

Thanks

I don't know the carb on your bike but from what your saying it is starving for fuel.If it has a accelerator pump maybe the plunger is bad. From what your saying the bowl is running out of fuel or not keeping up with demand thats where the accelerator pump is to give that extra fuel during hard acceleration.

From your info you need adjust the carb.per your service manual adjust the air fuel mixture.turn clockwise cw to lean or counter clockwise ccw to richen the air fuel mixture.don't mess with idle adjustment from your info you got that correct.make your cw ccw turns 1/8 to 1/16 then test run until you smooth out the stumble/hesitation.

Took it out today for first long ride. It is still coughing a bit around 50-60 mph. Haven't checked mileage yet. A bit more tuning to do.
