Alright everyone, here's a question that makes me feel dumb just asking it.

I've already installed risers for the correct height, but I want to rotate my XB-S's bars backwards for a shorter reach. Too bad the bars are stuck fast to the upper clamp! How the heck do I pop the clamp off the bars?

Big hammer and/or WD40?

Hitting it with a rubber mallet worked for me when I did similar years ago.

Wow, it was seriously stuck. I had already tried hammering on it, so today I improvised. I slid an old credit card and a plastic collar stay from an old shirt into the space between top clamp and bar, then put a slotted screwdriver between the pieces of plastic and hammered on it to drive a wedge.

That alone was not enough, but it did seem to break enough of the bond that pounding on the grips with my hands broke it loose.
