2006 Ulysses - engine runs rough at lower RPM's...!

This does not happen all the time, and usually in the lower rpm's. It does it for some kilometer, and after this it runs normal. Sometimes for a longer period, sometimes not. Yesterday it was getting worse, because after every stand still on a traffic light it did stutter until I was on +3000 rpm.

The check engine light is not showing any error, and is working correctly - strange

Any good ideas Folks, because here in Thailand there is not Buell dealer or workshop with computer.

Thanks for Help

Start with the easy stuff... throttle position sensor reset (you will need ECM Droid with a Bluetooth modem, or ECMSpy or TunerPro with the cable). Reset the AFV as well.

Also do a spark plug change, make sure it isn't the gas, look down the intake to make sure you haven't lost a screw on the throttle plate, inspect for intake leaks on the throttle body.

After that, I would inspect the wire harness that comes under the front frame by the steering head (wires internally cracked).

If you have an oscilloscope, you can look at the cam position sensor output and see if that is dropping out.

Thanks for your info, but I am not an expert with this things. Can you please give me more info on how to do? I do have the ECM Spy, and know how to install it on my PC, but else don't know more than that. I did change the plugs just 2 weeks ago and also the wiring harness has been changed. Osci... I don't even know what it is, and less there is one who have it...! I live in Thailand, so that's tricky.

Don't have a ECM Spy Manual to learn...!

Regards Erwin

I don't have the time to document it, if you have the cable it's pretty straigtforward.

Just make sure you turn the idle screw all the way out before hitting the big "reset TPS" button in ECMSpy.

If you google it or search here, there is a lot of discussion about how to do it.
