I picked up a lightly used Buell Blast for $1,500 but I had one little issue...

Bike starts and idles great (fast idle). After 1 minute or so, as it starts to warm up, the engine will stall unless I give it a little gas. However, it drives great all throughout the rev range (even during this time). Once warmed up (3-5 minutes) it will no longer stall on idle.

The intake boot (das boot) looked to be in good shape, but the previous owner provide a new one so I installed it and changed the spark plug to see if I could fix the stalling problem. Now we have a real problem! Engine starts and idles fine (still wants to stall after fast idle when cold so that problem was not resolved), but when under load it stalls immediately (with occasional backfire). Picture this...idling perfectly, then slowly releasing clutch and it dies. I put the old spark plug back in, but the problem remains.

You can rev the engine all you want; it only stalls under load. With WOT it is possible to get it to move a few feet before it dies. The intake boot is on tight.

At the same time I did this work I also changed both tires. Is it possible that when the rear tire was installed something could have happened again ?

What did I do? More importantly, any ideas on how to fix it?

I am going to leave this one on here because it may help someone else. I found the problem and solved for it.

The Primary Chain was too loose! I hadn't touched it and don't know how it happened, but I did hear a faint "box of rocks" sound on one of the many tries to get this thing to work. I tightened by ear (between whir and box of rocks) and it operates as normal now.
