I have an oil leak coming from around the camshaft of my 2001 Buell Blast. I was wondering if anyone new the components that could possibly be leaking. It seems to be coming out of the wire that goes into the camshaft. Help would greatly be appreciated!

Same problem here:

I have a 2008 Buell Blast that has sprung a small oil leak.

The leak is at the bottom of what I believe is the gearcase right around the oil return hose. Any idea from you guys on how easy it might be to fix? Looking for advice before I go diving in.

Thanks for your help everyone.

Hard to tell from the pictures, but do you mean it is leaking down the cam position sensor wire bundle from under the timing cover?

If so, that will be a bit of a hassle to fix... you have to remover the rocker box to get the cover back on. Not that bad of a job, but a lot of screws and pieces in and out.

Bill, I think you can replace the seal without having to pull the cam cover.
It's a bitch but it can be done on the older tubers. Never done a Blast/XB like that though.
