I have a 1997 Buell S1 Lightning. Over this past winter I have not been riding it due to weather conditions and a bad carburetor. I rebuilt the carburetor and started the bike up and went for a ride. When I came back the bike had a dead battery. I thought it has to do with the cold winter, so I went to buy a new battery. Naturally I checked all the connections and made sure that they were solid and noncorrosive. Before my next ride I also checked the voltage and it was charging at 14.3v at 3000rpm. Went out for another ride and came back with another dead battery. I now think it's the voltage regulator or the stator, or both. But I do not know where to find those parts, or even the part numbers. To be honest I'm not entirely sure if that's exactly what's wrong.
